Hi All, New to this page! Hello! We are based in Cheltenham and have finally invested in (given in) to my son’s obsession with drones. He is almost 12 years but very new to drone flying so I was looking for a drone club, or days camps/clubs targeted to kids where he can learn all he needs to about drones and get some guidance on how to fly his drone well. In or around Cheltenham, Gloucester, Cotswolds or even Oxford…any recommendations/suggestions?

As to clubs specifically for children to learn to fly a drone .. I can’t help.

There’s a possibility one of our members in your area might be willing to provide some assistance .. just have to see if one responds.

This way you will get notified of any meet ups that have been organised.
My son was 12/13 when he first tagged along to a meet up with me. The club have made him welcome and encouraged his flying. So don’t worry about going to a meet he and yourself will be welcomed as well.
But for advice this is the best source in the uk, and is second to none.

@ABi, I couldn’t agree more. I’ve taken my son, who is autistic and has social anxiety; I bet no one has been aware of his difficulties because they have been so welcoming he is very engaging at the meets. No amount of questions is too many for any member I’ve met. :light_blue_heart::pink_heart:

I wish there was a flying club around here for my wee grandson to join in with others, he’s 4 years old and I gave him the basics of flying from 2½ years old and now he’s better then me which probably not hard to do :joy: he has his own mini 4 pro, 2 x neos and goggles a motion controller and FPV controller and nearly everyday he’s flying when weather is good but with him if he sees a break in the weather that’s him up in the air.

It’s his happiest moment when flying, does not need anyone there he just picks his case up and goes and fly’s and flying the neo with goggles and motion controller he’s a whizz

Not all plain sailing I can tell you :face_with_peeking_eye: he’s crashed a few mini 3 pros in the past one was getting a toy arrow of the shed roof by trying to push it off with the drone :scream: had to laugh when I heard what he tried :joy:

Little shit likes flying my 5 pro more then his drone and does it when my back has turned and I go berserk with him and say you’ve got your own it’s the same but no he likes mine because of the colour :sob:
