Cheap way to bring aerial power to the area and/ or use them to overwhelm enemy’s AA defenses before missile strikes or airplanes attacks. China is probably the first to deploy a drone carrier because they are still lacking in airplane carrier know-how (and planes), but it won’t be long until you see other countries deploying similar ships.

As we have all seen, warfare in the 21st centaury is not about tanks and ships, far to easy to hit and destroy. Plus very expensive to replace.
The next generation of warfare is autonomous.
If China have this now, the rest of the world needs to catch up very fast
