Chinese Ban Affect FPV?

China bans export of some civilian drones and parts starting Sept 1st :scream: :scream: :scream:

thats a VoD of a live stream thats over 2 hours long… :man_shrugging:t2: Not sure I can be bothered skipping through to the relevant section lol

Have you got a TLDR?

hmm… I think it’s a bit over hyped… but maybe a bit of a knee jerk reaction by some sellers unclear of the rules from the Chinese ministry of commerce…

give it time for the changes to settle in and be understood

quote:
The restricted equipment includes drones that weigh 4kg without cargo or accessories, as well as craft that carry kit capable of emitting projectiles or certain types of cameras or laser range-finders, or that can operate beyond line of sight.

the Reuters bit is similar China curbs exports of drone equipment amid U.S. tech tension | Reuters

… this is likely to be anything with a thermal imaging camera… but… given the last line that could be everything with camera + real time screen if taken literally (can operate BVLOS.)

although not a news site there are a few more bits here to consider

basically… let the dust settle… I’m sure everything will work out fine in the end… no panic needed (we can’t do anything about it anyway!)

otherwise the second hand drone market for parts is going to be looking good! (pssst… wa’na buy some drone parts?.. flight controller ?.. DJI O3 air unit?)

It’s ok it’s a madstech video. He’ll repeat the information about 100 times so skipping anywhere in the video should get you the information. Also be the obligatory DJI cry and whinge too no doubt
