Remote pilots flying drones for leisure may wish to report safety issues to seek reassurance or
guidance about their actions, for cathartic reasons following an occurrence and/or for altruistic
reasons wishing to share an experience.
Members of the public wishing to report drones as a nuisance, concern, invasion of privacy etc
should contact the police. It is not intended that CHIRP will act as a conduit for such reporting.
I think they are interested in incidents and issues that other UAS pilots can learn from, or which have policy implications. One thing from my personal experience that jumps to mind is the risk of collision with manned aircraft flying below the normal 500-ft floor level.
Don’t know if anyone else has seen this but I got an email from chirp with a link to their first feedback which lists a few incidents/accidents in both manned and unmanned aviation and what can be learned from them. Found it quite an interesting read. https://sway.office.com/7Tqa2Z4aYWjr4GNO?ref=Link&loc=play
Undoubtedly this is already on here somewhere but incase it isn’t - the app can be used to alert to all and various forms of airspace use.
I receive emails on ‘Drones’ and ‘Spacecraft’ (I’m fascinated!)
Quite useful to know where and when restrictions are due to heli flights, jamming trials and air displays.
If you just want to know the restriction and when which is the key bit operationally for just going and flying. You can often get a bit more info from Skywise from what I’ve seen if you’re curious.
