I took 4 flights last weekend at the quarry, 2 with the AVATA and 2 with the AIR3, giving me almost an hour of footage in total, hence a second video from Dinorwic - a more Cinematic version showing the vastness of the site and also a few places I couldn’t fit in the last FPV version.
I think it works, but I would be interested to hear which version you prefer, this one or the FPV version shared earlier in the week…
Thanks… I was blown away by the footage from both drones tbh, but the AVATA footage just needed to be edited first - even if it took a while to get it wrestled into a video… I think there is something interesting and moody in this edit, but it is more looking at the site as a whole…
It looks amazing and I’m definitely putting this place on my list for next year.
Please keep up the amazing work you’re doing it’s an inspiration to us all
Another great video Suzanne and I do like the dramatic background music - really brings it all together.
Makes me very sad though to see the damage that humans have done and makes me wonder what it looked like before the humans left their fingerprints - a very thought provoking video for me - thank you
Wow, both films are amazing, you are very skilled! I have a slight preference for this, 2nd, one, though it could be purely down to the choice of music, which gives the footage a dramatic element.
Both are amazing and fascinating, thank you.
My only comment, as one who is interested in Welsh narrow gauge railways and slate quarries, is that its all a bit quick, with no time to absorb the detail of the building remains, the inclines and galleries, etc. Nevertheless it is great to see the overall picture of the quarries and marvel at the amount of work that went into them, so thank you again.
Thank you… Yeah, that music track just had to be used - I actually used 4 repeats of it stitched together as its only a minute long normally…
It is sad to see what damage we do, but also the heritage, the stories of the lives of those who lived there adds another dimension to it for me, I would prefer it was not damaged, but it is what it is and I don’t think restoring it would be possible or actually the right thing to do…
As it is now it is an interesting place, that makes us think, and is great for both climbers, walkers and drone flyers…
Thank you… I will be going back at some time in the future - once a bit more weight has been lost - and am hoping to get up more close and personal with the buildings, and to do something more poignant, slower and showing the detail and what is left, but it may be a while yet…
Lovely moody footage! Is Dinorwic the same as Dinorwig (the power station)?
" The Dinorwig Power Station known locally as Electric Mountain , or Mynydd Gwefru, is a pumped-storage hydroelectric scheme, near Dinorwig , Llanberis in"
Great footage throughout. i once spent 3 days walking around this site, still didnt get to see everything, with its numerous entry points i opted for the shortest route to the reservoir at top. being at the top it was easier to see what levels to clamber down too. still want to visit again, just like most of the welsh slate quarries, now armed with both my drones it only of a time before i revisit, keep up the great flying
