Cleethorpes Meet up - August 18th

It’s a thing yes - there were gulls there last time I headed in that direction.

Grimsby docks… this is the reply I got. " > Photography and the use of drones at our ports are strictly prohibited. This policy is enforced due to security regulations and the need to maintain a safe and secure environment under the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code and critical national infrastructure requirements."

I’d be interested in coming along!

Hi all - update on the August 18th meet-up in Cleethorpes. I suggest the car park at the end of Meridian Road (it’s free), and also there are spaces along Meridian Road itself. The What3Words for the car park are “fluid.gone.inform”. Meridian Road runs round the back of what used to be Pleasure Island. TOAL either from the car park, or from the beach huts abutting the Pleasure Island itself. After we’ve done all we can there, there’s a cafe called “The Brew Stop” just off Meridian Road. Then it’s up to us what we do. As advised there are issues at the docks, so it might be difficult. I’ll have George with me (from my camera club) and he knows the ins and outs of the area pretty well. Suspect there will be other ‘locals’ too.

Time to meet ? Well I suspect as the weather is going to be good (with light winds) it might get busy, so suggest early doors at the car park to ensure we get spaces. Dare I suggest 8.30am? Or is that too much? Open to thoughts and good ideas from here on in…

Hope I can meet with one or two of you again.

Edit - forgot to say that there’s also a small yacht club just a bit further down the beach which is good for a few shots. And Humberston Fitties…

If it’s the 18th, then I won’t be able to make it, sorry. Maybe next time

Hopefully - next time

I’m going to have to drop out.

The last time I checked the thread, the meet was on hold because folks were wanting to fly to complete the Birthday Challenge, which had to take place after the 18th.

Because I would have been travelling from Nottingham, I was going to camp for the night on the 17th, so I’ve not booked a camp site.

Have an enjoyable day :+1:t2:

@Osdog Is this happening tomorrow please? It’s a bit of a drive for me

Well yes. I suspect it might be a bit of a washout. If you have a long drive don’t worry. We can try and fix something later in the year perhaps. I’ll go and another friend will too. We will fly and see who else pitches up. :joy:

It does look rather windy. I’ll give it a miss and use the drive time to fly more locally before the wind picks up
I’ll keep my eye on the meets!

Well! I’m here with a friend. If anyone else pitches up - we’ve gone for a walk :joy:

What’s the weather like? … or is “gone for a walk” a code?

Hmmm…. Looking for list quad

Well, we hung around till 9am, and then took the drones for a walk… :). Weather fabulous… light winds, sunshine… great views across the Humber…
