In short, the quarry closed in 2010 and was previously owned by Bardon Aggregates.
A few years ago, there was talk of turning it into a water park, but that idea never progressed. Currently, it consists of a large actual quarry and a few gantries, machinery and control rooms.
Overlooking the quarry is the Crich Memorial Monument. The annual Regimental Pilgrimage and service at the Crich Memorial, commemorating the opening of the Battle of the Somme, is held on the first Sunday in July.
PLEASE DO NOT FLY ON THE FIRST SUNDAY OF JULY.
Thank you.

I’ve flown here but can anyone flying here please avoid flying over the museum grounds. We have had in the past drones buzzing our trams and flying dangerously close to the overhead wiring
Hello, I believe that last time you flew at Crich Quarry, one of our museum members came over to see you and was quite happy chatting to whoever. Can I ask one other thing if he didn’t mention it, I believe some of you parked by the gate which is the entrance to the quarry. If you go again, can you make sure the gate isn’t blocked as we require it for any emergency access to other areas of the museum site. Happy flying and hopefully I’ll get chance to join you if I’m not working at the museum
