This is a late afternoon / early evening meet
UPDATE 13:40 THURSDAY
Weather good, moderate wind, less than 30 degrees. Car park is currently rammed which may change by 16:30 (reason for late start!) If problem persists then plan B, back to the gun site. I will be at Ferry car park entrance if plan B is activated. I will be wearing black shorts and a black hawaiian shirt with rainbow coloured flamingos and pineapples so I blend in with the crowd!

At the time of writing another heat wave is predicted, so we are holding this in the hope it cools as the meet progresses. A moderate south-west breeze is forecast which should aid cooling - the site is relatively open.
Downsides first. Four hours parking will cost you £6.90, 5 hours £9.50. It is a popular destination on a sunny day - but you should be going against the traffic at the time the meet is set. Your parking fee gets you a space on an unmaintained patch of shingly sand, low slung sports cars may struggle. There is no shade and no seating apart from the cafe or pub.
Upsides. Nice views. A reasonable number of boat movements in and out of the harbour entrance, Hayling Ferry. A broken-backed Mulberry Harbour Phoenix unit (one of the four built where you will park the car.) Houseboats around the Kench. The Winner sandbank will be exposed as low tide occurs at 17:30. A Beach cafe - but it closes at 5pm!) A pub - it wasa sh*thole last time I was there but that was about 30 years ago. Public toilets as well as pub toilets. If you really want to splash the cash you could sit on the pub terrace with a drink or ameal (open all day) and fly a Mini from your table 
The more astute among you will realise this is only a mile away from the meetup on Thursday August 6th. So its much the same for the distant views but a lot more close-up on-water action.
There is no readily defined meeting place, the location on the map is the genral area. There are vantage points all along the shore, at the pub, at the slipway and the ferry point. Parking is linear. Best is to look out for a harrassed fat bloke in an old black Citroen Traction Avant (Maigret car!). I'll be watching the meetup thread for distress messages from those who get lost
