Contact details for Denham Aerodrome FRZ permission

Has anyone had any experience contacting Denham Aerodrome to ask permission to fly?

There are no contact details on the website, but I did find an email address through NATs after trawling through Google.

Is it usual for small aerodromes such as this to receive and process requests?

Completely newbie here.

Hi @RailFocus , it looks as though you’re quite new here :wave:t2:

Why not nip over to the Introductions page, and say hello properly and tell us a bit about yourself. :+1:

There is an email address on the NATS website, just wondering do I contact directly?

https://nats-uk.ead-it.com/cms-nats/opencms/en/Publications/AIP/Current-AIRAC/html/eAIP/EG-AD-2.EGLD-en-GB.html

@RailFocus ring them, using the telephone number @SparkyFPV provided.

Thanks for the replies, they have emailed back with a form to fill out, but want a copy of the CAA Permission PfCO .

Would flying a drone for a YouTube channel be classed as for commercial use? Hence needing insurance?

Hi Chris,

!. I should email them and (politely) inform them that the PFCO was supersceded over 2 years ago by the GVC. There is also no difference now between a commercial flight and a non commercial one (unless theCAA have changed their minds).
2. Get some insurance, it’ll cost you about a tenner for a days worth of knowing you’re covered.
3. If the video could be monetised, then it could be classed as commercial. Do a risk assessment and get some insurance, (see number 2 above).
Be safe, not sorry.

They’ve given permission, just have to call the tower on the day.

Will definitely look into insurance.
