Continuous Light Options

Searched the forum and not been able to find a suitable thread.

I’m looking for a continuous lit white led light, that is light enough to fit to the M3P.

I’ll be using it for light painting long exposure photography, where the M3P will be flown around monuments and statues.

Have checked the usual websites, but they only have strobe light.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I believe the Firehouse Arc has a steady mode for constant light.

The vifly strobes have two flash rates and static modes in each of green, red, and white colour modes.
I have several of them, they are very good IMO.

You can certainly fly at least one on a 3D printed mount on the mini 2 and remain sub 250g, but you would have to confirm that for yourself on the mini 3 pro.

This has a constant white light mode

Thank you everyone.

I bit the bullet and ordered the HeiyRC light as suggested by sparkyws and seconded by banjonic.

It’s got to be worth a gamble at the cost of £13.00

Cheers :+1:t2:

Mines coming tomorrow :grinning:

Does anyonecknow where I can get a small permantly on LED. I normally use a Cree strobe but I have a job next videoing a light show. As there will be people around Ill be using a Mini 4 pro where the leds go out when recoding. A flashing stribecwould be too distracting so Im looking for something similar but on all the time. And yes I know the Min4 has a light but its too bright for what I want.

Moved your post to a recent thread asking similar.

I’ve searched the forum but can’t quite get an answer… I’d like to do some light painting with the mini 4 pro. I can see how to fly around something to light it, but surely at some point the drone is facing away from you so there will be a break in the circle… Can someone explain how you deal with this. I’ve seen a recommendation on the forum for lights - but I can’t work out how you get the full circle… thanks…

The light should be mounted underneath the drone, something like a Bright LumeCube, then you’ll be able to see when doing a long exposure photo.

@TheBinman is correct.

I’ve moved your post to the relevant thread.

Also search on “sky writing” where you’ll see some examples.

Hi - yes, I can see how I might mount the light, but it faces in one direction only of course…so I’d have to fly ‘round’ whatever with the drone facing me all the time… TheJohnster mentioned intelligent flight modes, and I get that they won’t work. More research and. practice needed here…

If you use something like a LumeCube, you mount the light facing downwards, then it will be visible from all angles below that light.

What about using Waypoints, which will be ideal for linear shapes, but not for circular patterns

Love my lume cubes.

Their spread angle isn’t huge - and drop-off past 45° happens. But can work if high enough or brightness needed isn’t significant.

Not available from Lumecube, these days, are these diffusers .. that are ideal .. and make a constant brightness visible through a very wide angle. (Used myself for this before.)

They attach (magnetically) via the Modification Frame (also not available from Lumecube any more) ..

That’s a “push-fit” onto the Lumecube (not intended for drone use) .. but I hold mine on with thin cable-ties.

Both the Modification Frame and Diffusers are available via ebay and other online stores.
