Cromer Lifeboat Launch - DJI Air 3S

Dragged myself out of bed on a frosty morning to head up to Cromer and catch the all-weather lifeboat launch. Still very much experimenting with both the Air 3S (shooting DLOG-M) and DaVinci Resolve, so constructive feedback is welcome!

Email the link to the station they’ll love it :+1:

Hopefully not like my local station who never get back to you.

They might have a online safety policy where they are not to open external email links from unknown sources :man_shrugging: pop in and speak to them :+1:

They don’t even reply when tagged into Insta posts and they also have an insta account. I don’t bother anymore.

999 - Coastguard for quickest response ;o)

Great video that Andy , well done . You should try and get down to the Caister life boat , they are independent and far more worthy cause than the RNLI , they often run training with both boats launched.

The Independent lifeboats do sadly get overlooked. :+1:

The caister life boat does a fantastic job and is totally independent , they have great local support , there is 2 boats and one of those is new this year , well worth a look if anyone is in the area .

Great video and interesting subject matter. You say you are using D-LOG and DV, have you watched anything on colour management yet? I learnt the v simple process to colour grade the entire film automatically on DV before I realized my camera doesn’t record in LOG. If you are interested I can share the method with you - it literally transforms the colour and all related settings in a few simple clicks. (No idea whether you already did it / know how).

This was shot in DLOG and colour corrected in Resolve. I still need some practice though but will come in time I’m sure!

Being the new (and happy) owner of a Mini3 I don’t have the ability to shoot in any other format than straight out of the camera but I am a user of DaVinci Resolve (studio !) for my other video work.
Any guidance on how to get the best quality out of my video would be most appreciated.

Hi Pixels, I am happy to talk you through a couple of different methods I use. I am uploading a 2 min video I did yesterday, which will be visible in around 60 mins on my channel. It was a grey murky day, but the end result is far from that. If you are interested have a look, or if you want you can PM me for the link - it took me not very long to get the results.

@Pixels looks like I can’t private message and I don’t want to spam up this thread, so I will post in my DV thread in the video editing section once done :ok_hand:

One of the great benefits of membership

Does the insurance cover commercial use or can it?

All detailed above, it does cover direct messaging though ;o)

It’s not as bad as you might think. Just make sure you go on a calm day, and preferably one where the wind is blowing onshore rather than off!

I’ve flown both the Mini 2 and the Air 3S off Cromer many times (to the extent that I feel all of GADC collectively rolling their eyes when I upload another photo or video of the same place), and find it a great place for getting to grips with a drone.
