Cromwell Lock & Weir - Added to Rivers and Canals in East Midlands

I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

Land owner permission requirements unknown.

Flew from location shown. I did cross the lock bridge and later found out I should have not been on the island. The lock keeper was fine with me. If you go don't cross one of the two lock bridges, stay on the main bank.

The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 08/11/2023. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location.

The only thing to bear in mind would be the Canal and River Trust. They don’t like anyone flying drones off what they consider to be “their property”:wink:

Dont see why the Island was off limits? Looks open and accessible to me? If you can cross the lock gate without restriction then its fair and reasonable to assume you can have access! Like @JockyB John says C&R Trust dont want you to fly and IMO can be overly protective t#***rs.

If you were operating a narrow boat you would have to go on the island to open the lockgate presumably?
