Cynghordy Viaduct - Added to Bridges in Wales

I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene - Location # 569

Land owner permission not required.

The railway is part of the ‘Heart of Wales’ line and does occasionally have steam trains traverssing it.

Access is not the easiest and choices are:

  1. Park by Cynghordy Station (station is too grand a word for it) and then floolw footpaths but you’ll need an OS map and stout footwear. Essentially you need to get up and by the wooded area - here or herabouts: http://bit.ly/36dGsiE

  2. Park under the bridge and walk up the lane a little to get a reasonable view. There are a few lay-by’s and or gates into fields to set yourself up in. If you park here, there is also a tiny chapel and graveyard which may or may not be open.

The originator declared that this location was not in a flight restriction zone at the time of being flown. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying the same location.

You stalking me now  lol

My only real advice for this one is look at when the Heart of Wales trains are running. The day I went is was supposed to have been a steam train but that broke down so I got a standard locomotive. My train nerd of an eldest did tell me what the engine was in my shot but that was a few years ago now!
