Very impressive drone display on the D-Day 80 Tribute. I’m just wondering if any of you know anything about the drones and technology involved?
I should imagine like most other drone shows,
Drone light shows are performed by illuminated, synchronized, and choreographed groups of drones that arrange themselves into various aerial formations . Almost any image can be recreated in the sky by a computer program that turns graphics into flight commands and communicates them to the drones.
While it’s possible to take control manually, the drone performances are pre-programmed and unfold on their own. So before the show, every drone receives its flight plan or mission, which it follows from takeoff to landing.
