I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:
In the heart of Darlington’s railway heritage stands Hopetown Darlington, a historic railway museum and visitor attraction built around the former North Road railway station. The site is closely connected to Darlington’s important role in the birth and development of the modern railway.
North Road Station was Darlington’s original railway station, opening in 1842 as part of the Stockton and Darlington Railway. It served passengers travelling along one of the world’s earliest public railways and played an important role in Darlington’s development as a major railway town.
Today, the historic station buildings form part of Hopetown Darlington, alongside railway exhibits, locomotives and other artefacts celebrating the town’s remarkable railway story. The site also sits close to the Head of Steam and the original Stockton & Darlington Railway route.
Hopetown provides a fascinating link between Darlington’s past and present, preserving the location where generations of passengers, railway workers and locomotives helped shape the town’s identity. These aerial photographs capture the historic station buildings and surrounding railway heritage from above, showing an important part of the story of Darlington and the railway.
I flew this when Amazon didn't put a flight restriction on the day so I didn't need to call Teesside Airport but if you are flying and on websites that shows airspace restrictions where a red semi circle round Darlington, then I highly suggest calling Teesside Airport making them aware of your drone presence by calling them before and after you land and tell them where you will be flying.
The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 25/08/2026. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location. Landowner permission may be required before taking off.
