Hi All, I took the plunge and have started using DaVinci 19. I have a Mac which came with iMovie and which works fine but am curious about DV, which is very similar in some respects. Today I tried to upload an MP4 file and DV wouldn’t accept it. I can’t find any feed here about the issue, so thought I’d pose the question. My fallback is iMovie, but I’d like to understand what is going, as these are one of the most common files to use.
I have a Mac and DV and I drag and drop the MP4 files off my Mini 3 Pro and the DJI Action and DJI Pocket without any issues.
So it does work - not sure how you are doing it though - you can just drag and drop or do Import - Media an select the file from there.
Thanks LE60LAD, I have now found that out. I was trying to import straight from the desktop folder to the black pane and it wasn’t having it so, as you’ve suggested, I dragged and it accepted it, so thanks for that!

You have to drag and drop in the media library area, not the big screen area 
As a user of DR over the last 7+ years, I watched this “DR19 Crash Course for Beginners” YT, and suggest that the 2 hrs of watching will save you more than that amount of time compared to just bumping your way around it.

Tried some of that feeling my way around back when I first used it, and wish such a comprehensive intro the the software had been available.
DR is amazingly powerful and, because of that, there are a bazillion controls that exist to control that power … which can make it rather daunting. Of course, the “working it all out for yourself” route is often the one that makes what you learn stick in the memory banks the best … unfortunately.

I find the easiest way to control DR media is to transfer all my files from my phone and the micro SDCard into a folder on my PC (I call RAW) and open a new project in DR and hit Ctlrl+I (Command for mac). Navigate to where you have stored your files, choose the ones you want to add to your media and hit ‘open’. They will be placed in your media source bin in DR.
