Deansgate Square, Manchester - Added to Modern Buildings in North West

I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

Land owner permission not required.

This is a fascinating urban location with great photograph opportunities for those who don't mind the challenges of take-off-and-landing in a street environment.

The photo shows Elizabeth Tower (during construction), but the adjacent Deansgate Square is also hugely photogenic, especially at night.

On-street parking was free-of-charge after 8pm, when I flew.

The main challenge at this site is maintaining a safe take-off-and-landing (TOAL) location. Flying at a quiet time of day is obviously helpful, but other safety measures may be needed e.g. a spotter (in case of drunks etc); use of a car roof for TOAL etc.

I would not recommend flying here if you are not very familiar with the drone safety regulations at the time of flying and have no previous experience in this sort of location.

The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 18/07/2021. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location.
