Deborah (the Drone) Lives

Flying again.

Took about a 30% off flight time with RunCam Thumb Mini Camera and a bleeper. However it is possible to do a whole battery without crashing.

No longer analogue, but I need to starting using gyro data to remove some of the Jello.

Yes, I am a grown (middle-aged) man who gave his drone a name. Well my partner picked the name… but I am grinning as I am back flying.

One of mine is called Luscious Linda after one of my Ex’s (it goes down a lot) :joy:

Is that the Avata Wayne? :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:

She’s a Virgin :astonished:

Im sure youll relieve her of her innocence soon enough mate

All my drones have names. Some of the early 3D printed ones have more interesting ones.

So far:

Eric ***
Ernie ***
Eric 2 ***
Big’Un
Big’Un 2
Prize
Wasp
Fly
Bee
Hornet
Blue Bottle
Bug
Eagle
Jet
Dolphin**
Beaver**
Badger**

** These are cheating names, just the name of the frame. The rest are unique (ish)
*** Actually named after my childhood gerbils, who were of course named after…

I find it essential to have the “craft name” in the OSD, so I can remember what the feck was flying…

Having the beeper all the way up there is going to make that vibrate like shit. Rosser will be sad.

Of course placement of the beeper on a toothpick is going to be tough. Maybe underslung in someway?

Could the thumb be underneath as well, up against the battery, which could be toilet-tanked?

I’ve never built a toothpick myself and it’s stuff like this that has had me scratching my head…

Good suggestions

I tried putting the bleeper underneath. When I crashed I think that may have contributed to the frame braking and it acted as a pivot point. But this is before I had the run can. Ask @Foley I can never fly with a separate beeper.

But you got me thinking as the centre of gravity is bad.

Toilet tanked ? Don’t understand is that Amm and battery side by side ?
Or toilet is flush ?

Might print/ design a flat undercarriage box to house cam, batter and beeper.

Thanks again.

Yes, side-to-side… It’s a term I heard on Nick Burn’s videos. BTW if you’re into micros then his videos are worth watching. (also his give-aways, I got a £200+ drone free on one of those)

Interesting!

Are you sure it suits her?
Is it cause she’s so popular?
Or maybe her house is very small?

Martin said that you were the best ?

Well better then Deborah somwhere… … I mean “over there somewhere”.
Nice place to fly there…

Nice place to fly there…
London, but just within 2 min walk from house. Bit tight for a park and normally busy. There not much open fields but the odd park here and there if you hunt them out.
