Interested to know what gloves you guys might be wearing for this cold weather. I’m not into wearing gloves for most things, so for flying I find them irratating at best, add to the issue of having to access a touchscreen device and my world falls apart . Im using running gloves at the mo, nice, lite and flexible but the touchscreen part is diabolical. Got some Sealskinz, great gloves, warm and screen friendly , but a little too heavy with the touch on the controls. Looking at Mamut or Montane but just wondering what people with more experience use:+1:.
I got some neoprene fishing gloves when they were in the centre aisle at Aldi. The top joint og the thumb amd index finget of each hand can be exposed by peeling back that part of the glove. They were a fiver - I’m sure fishing and sports stores have similar
@macspite, I actually saw them gloves in our aldi a few months back and toyed with the idea of them, left it to late, and when they were gone, they were gone! Cheers, I’ll keep an eye for em next time.
I stumbled across a pair of woolen gloves no finger or thumb at the tip with gel palm at a Premier store £1.99 the best I have had very warm and does the job
@Diveuk , love a little bargain like that, I’m at that time of life where I hoard and look at bargain buckets . I don’t mind paying for good stuff though , but sometimes they don’t do exactly what they say on the tin:thinking:.
I use a pair of these from AliExpress, which work well on a touchscreen:
(Please note: possibly long delivery times from China.)
In this day and age, I would expect camping & outdoor shops to have suitable touchscreen gloves. Or maybe phone shops ?
Radical alternative: get some nice comfortable gloves you really like, and make neat little slits (or just unpick a few stitches) in the appropriate fingertips.
I got some North Ridge thin stretchy, touch gloves from Go Outdoors which work pretty well for around tenner I think. No good for really cold weather, but take the chill off. The touch bits are separate suede-like tips stitched in, and give reasonable sensitivity.
@bannerman100, the radical approach is something that’s going through my mind, and think I will go with. I have a couple of pairs of Head running gloves which are light and quite warm for walking dog walking, so I’m thinking of doing like you suggested and either unpick, or make a couple of ‘incisions’ for fingers where needed..
Nice one for all of your replies.
Just a word of caution from my experience with the Fold Back Magnet Fastened Finger Tips gloves.
95% of the time I have used them with my M2P, I have to perform Compass Calibration. I have has less issues with these using my Mini 2. Basically, the magnets in them are strong enough to mess up the compass. As a result, I can only put them on after I have launched the drone.
hi…
I haven’t done much drone flying yet, but i do a lot of outdoor photography where cold is a severe disadvantage if you have arthritis in you hands, so me wife made me a pair oh gloves that have a hole in the tip of the first finger and thumbs so i get the sense of touch on the buttons. Well that’s what she told me … I think its more likely that she may have just dropped a few stiches.
Can anyone recommend gloves for drone operations. Im after full glove that is not only warm but thin enough to operate the small sticks on th controller. I have tried many even the ones with fknger tips missing but they are to cold to use your fingers fredze up.

i have a pair of north face ones that work on screens, there warm & thin, ill see if i can find a link.
I’d say these having had first hand experience, there grippy to, but are better for your intended use the tighter fit they are.
I’ve a pair of Sealskins which are great, but expensive and are a tad bulky. What I tend to use now, Kirky mentioned them above, running gloves.
Specifically, women’s Head running gloves. They’re sound. I also take some of those hand warmers along, activate them, throw them in my jacket pockets then if need be I can put the old handys in the pocket for a quick warm:+1:.
I bought these 3 years ago and are still perfect. Perfect for droning and photography in the winter months, as the tips of index finger and thumb fold back and stick with hidden magnets. Blummin warm too! Excellent value for £20.
(The ones with the thin red band around the cuff.)
Ten fingers all working on your touchscreen.
(They look like wire wool, but won’t even scratch shiny paper.)
