Ancient stone circle (Henge) and lake flight at Devil’s Quoits Oxfordshire. There are many of these small henge circles in the UK, not quite the scale of the well known Stonehenge.
This is a major class II circle henge monument of Late Neolithic date. The henge ditch enclosed a circular area up to 120 metres (400’) across, with opposed entrances facing almost due east and west. The northern half of the henge appears to have had a second enclosing ditch circuit.
After poor weather in spring in the SEast UK, this was a calm sunny morning RC airship flight in June, which used the mid morning thermals to maintain height at reduced power and extend the endurance to over 1 hour on a 3 amp lion battery.
