Really missing the audio on hd fpv. Not just for the playback, but for the long range too using earphones
Yeah noticed it on that video I shared earlier having it on the analogue. Original air unit has it I think, but only got vistas. The DJI FPV does too actually though not to goggles only on the recording (Inc the DVR)
Looking good Martin, gonna have to get my goggles rooted and give it a go ![]()
I actually have the default font on the WTFOS as didn’t havw time to play with it before, so rendered with a different one to see what it looks like.
TBH the rooting was simple. I downgraded the firmware (using DJI’s own tools!), rooted, then upgraded using their tools. Then instakked WTF/OS, did that on the goggles and vista, and nice to know that unrooted vistas just work as normal. Also for first time ever used 1200W hack, which is just built in. Simples ![]()
Yeah looks pretty straight forward in the videos Ive watched just not got around to doing it yet. To be honest Ive not flown for bloody ages, gonna have to remember how to turn the goggles on before I can root them ![]()
Would be interesting to see what the INAV OSD update does.
I think I’m at the stage where, if I had the cash, I’d move to WS ![]()
You see what he’s like @SirGunner he’s playing the sob story again like when he wanted sharkbyte
Now Brendan has his HDZero Goggles I have just fitted the Nano 90 to my 3" tadpole, which with its new motors flies quite a bit quicker than it did before.
What do you think of the image quality and response?
On the bench?
I’ve actually only tried viewing it on the VRX and HDMI monitor I have set up. Image looks just fine on there.
Its alright @Steviegeek we can wait for WalkSnail V2 that will surely be out next summer ![]()
What about you Karl? Nano 90 anygood?
Flys ok. But its purely for racing I think. No image quality beyond 10m imo
Think I’m just too old to notice the extra percent locked in benefit
What res is the camera? I know its a bit lower than normal
540p 4:3
Thats getting down toward standard definition, surely at that point yould be better off with a quality analogue setup?
Maybe, but digital has other advantages like sorting multipathing.
When I went from hd02 + vrx to the hdzero goggles, that’s when I noticed the biggest difference in performance. It felt like I was being pulled to go faster. It was sort of saying ‘come on fat boy, catch up’.
In a actual fact there’s quite a bit less data being sent at 540p90 as opposed to 720p60. This should result in better signal quality, range and penetration.
As for digital vs analog, a big improvement despite the resolution is the colour stability and yes as Karl says the multipathing resistance.
Ah fair point, hadnt considered the multipathing scenario
