My HDZero Goggles won’t power on!
So… I guess I’ll be finding out how good their warranty is…
Shit… that’s my worst fear the goggles not working! That and the radio… ergh
Luckily I have backup options, but it’s very upsetting none-the-less.
Rather unexpectedly HDZero support sent me a PDF explaining how to do the fix myself. Either to to just short out the fuse or replace it.
Anyway, I’ve done what they suggested and it works!
I also note that the SMA connector has broken off as well. This is a known issue with the first batch goggles that I have and can be fixed.
That’s a good result.
You must be pleased to have them working again
Very… It’s a massive relief!
I’m still getting the SMA fix done. I’ve added a bit of wire to fix the broken trace on one side and I am now printing the bracer parts.
Early adopters hey?!
Glad to hear they working again, decent goggles ain’t cheap for any system!
Just released by WalkSnail, Avatar HD Nano V3 kit. Looks pretty nice to be fair
The cheapest I’ve seen them new. Finally convinced me to pull the trigger on digital, might have to slowly swap over cameras though as thats a whole other cost.
I don’t fly with goggles (hard to find a spotter, and can’t push the rules too much since I also need to fly for work) so the DJI system has always been a no-go. Between this and the TBS receivers im still running (sorry ELRS, till you do MAVLINK I’m not switching), I’m hoping for some solid mid-range flying on the 7" with HD video.
Easy to watch Walksnail on external monitor
Monitor has internal battery takes USB-C to usb-C cable. (Called phonebook as can use Samsung Android as the CPU and monitor, keyboard mouse needs one cable)
Blimey just got my lens 10 days from order to delivery. £73 (as they have to grind down end of bottle for my astigmatism). Bloody hell I thought digital was good. Crystal clear now.
Now watched that. Nice to see another decent set of goggles out there. Looking good to have another option! Analogue input doesn’t look as good as the lovely HDZeros, but still pricing looks good! A lot cheaper than the HDZeros, cheaper than the OG Avatar ones (man u’d be annoyed if you bought them recently!)… Lot cheaper than the DJI Goggle 2s, and the integras sit in between these and the HDZeros.
Good to see what CADDX are doing.
Yep, I’m tempted, especially as I held off buying the HDzero goggles.
BUT with my desired two options of big antennas on a tracker on a tripod AND just the goggle/antenna setup on my head for general flying AND considering my Skyzone’s being such a good image.
I think I’ll stew on it a few months rather than rush in foolishly
Yes, good goggles.
A few down points compared with HDZero goggles:
- Gyro… but no connector??? no ELRS backpack??? Hence how the feck does that do headtracking???
- No audio recording… I love my mic on my HDZero Goggles… as you have experienced on my videos
- No Analog Video recording
- Bad fit to face or optics (apparently)?
- HDZero VRX does not support 1080p30 or 540p90, so these Walksnail goggles won’t support those HDZero modes either. (not really a fault of the goggles, but worth bearing in mind)
BTW, the way HDZero is organised inside, the RF modules are also upgradable… possibly easier than the WS X ones… maybe…
Yes I noticed how mads removed the “easy replaceable” VRX board… OK it’s not that bad, but wasn’t quite plug and play lol.
Still think they’re the cheapest set of HD FPV goggles you can buy today.
I think that’s the “killer feature”.
Er… actually no…
I said HD
