Bardwell finally choose’s HDZero over DJI
Heh was going to post something similar. Maybe shouldn’t have canceled my walksnail order.
Think only way bardwell will let HDZero win anything is if you need an FPV system spelt H D Z e r o

His way to choose was rather odd… Analogue gets 2nd, but I can’t choose who is 1st or 3rd? WTF?
And how he can think the muddy blurred imaged that walksnail was producing was better than the perfect HDZero image I just don’t get. Sure the penetration I agree with that, we need a mid-range HDZero VTX (ffs)… But the image? I don’t get it…

I was thinking during the Walksnail video that perhaps he should have started earlier in the the day as it was obviously suffering in the fading light but then the DJI, which aparrently came after, looked fine.
Clearly he wasn’t judging by video quality alone.
And the playing field is never level. 250mW vs 400mW vs 1.2W…
My money is still safe for now. That’s a cool little quad though, whichever flavour you choose.

Sorry… In “normal” daylight with the best cameras for each system (forget weight, this is just image quality), Image quality is as follows DJI > WS > HDZero > Analogue. It’s night and day (though don’t use DJI at night 
:D). In this test was the Power output means he could get 100m with the HDZero, or behind 1 branch, which is why he put it behind WS.
Starting to sound like those slagging the Early Learning Radio System…
Be interesting to see when Madstech eventually reviews it all, he hates DJI, but very nice about it i the o3. Bardwell obv used to DJI image, and WS is close to DJI and the same style…
What has become apparent in the last few days, is whilst that h265 compression (in WS and DJI o3/Avata, so I guess o3/avata/avatar, heh), whilst meaning you can get a better image with lower mbits, the H264 is quicker to decode and have lower latency. Both WS and o3/avata have slightly worse latency that the “original” DJI system.

I will argue that that is not a completly unbiased analysis. There are many factors to consider.
Sure DJI and WS seem to have a higher resolution than HDZero, but that is actually an artifact of the compression. HDZero gives the uncompressed image, which shows resolution warts and all. However if you actually look carefully then you will see it also means that detail is not lost from the compression.
This just means that its really just down to personal preference.
The only real advantage that DJI and WS have is penetration and how they can deal with loss of signal.
And image quality overall, infact I would argue that the only advantages HDZero has over DJI or WS is the lower latency, which in reality is only really an advantage for racers or extreme freestylers not your average Joe pilots. Plus the ability to view/record eachothers live video feed without the need to bind or any loss of quality
Completely agree Martin and with Avatar being improved on with every firmware update plus not having the 13.3km hard limit of DJI it wont be long before it takes top spot. If they start putting out some better cameras too it will be even better
