DJI Air 2s locked to H265 - Resolved

Thinking my Macbook Pro was able to edit H265 video, I changed all my drones over to H265 HLG. I found that the Video on my Mini 4 pro stuttered on playback, initial thought was an issue was with the drone but after checking low res video on the controller and saw it was okay. Since found out that it’s because my MacBook CPU is the older one and can’t deal with 10 bit video.
Also found that one of my Air 2s was locked now to H265, no option for H264 even when changing back to Normal. The other one had H264 so changed it back.
Tried different controllers and still couldn’t change it back until I went to the bottom of the Camera tab and saw Reset camera settings, bingo, option to change to H264 was back.
Hope this helps anyone with a similar problem.

@Stonepegg Good info David :+1:I use HLG H.265 with my MINI 4 pro too. I thought there maybe a conflict when editing in Davinci Resolve as I use ground shots from my Samsung phone that will only use H.264 but appears to be ok. I just use 2 different Still settings to apply my colour grading and render in H.264. Not sure if there is an advantage in this but might try rendering in H.265 on a short video and compare.

@D0c.Col, H265 and colour grading was too good to miss so I also checked to see if shooting in H265 then converting to H264 to edit was an option…
Answer from others is NO, you loose some quality, so not worth it or the hassle. So it’s H264 at the moment and grade colours which is still good enough for You Tube, IG and FB.
