Update ** I just sat my A2 CofC exam proper. Finished the exam, checked the log file, was mortified to see "mobile phone detected listed about 6 times from the 360 degree video sweep. Looked round and down at the floor to see two old iPhones stacked on a pile of magazines and old papers Guessing I should have tried much harder to tidy up my working mess of a study. Now waiting to hear if I’ve had my results voided for blatant violation of the clearly stated rules
Should of chucked a bed sheet or two over the lot, save tidying up!
@R3SKT I think the issue would be if you had a mobile phone at hand rather than somewhere else within the room, I don’t recall having any issue doing the A2 CofC even though a mobile phone was on the table in front of me, although not reachable without the examiner seeing me move away from the camera
I actually put a couple of tea-towels over the two side monitors and switched those off, but left a fourth monitor to my left side uncovered, but also powered off - a bit hap hazard in my thinking I admit
Ahh, yep, and to be fair, I didn’t move out of my seat or even turn around. The whole show was over in under five minutes so they will be able to see I didn’t set to and go scrabbling about for answers dotted around the room like easter eggs
The comedy moment was me trying to do a 360° view with a tethered web cam. Got myself right tangled up trying to go right round, so I tried again, and got picked up for not having my face in view all of the time … who knew it would be so tricky to prove you’re not out to cheat
Amazing how tetchy they get about a no value qualification !
Wasn’t this bad when it was a £700 classroom course, and you actually got to fly a drone as part of it
It does seem all a little OTT, given that the structure and feel of the questions were not that much different to the original CAA online foundation 30 question module. If I’d been asked to put up £700 for the privilege I’d as likely as not walked the other way, whistling tunelessly …
