DJI Air 3s Refreshing Latest Firmware?

Just been trying to refresh the firmware on my air 3s which had version v01.00.1400 installed on it, so I opened assistant 2 and there was no option to refresh only downgrade so I went ahead with the downgrade which put it to version v01.00.1000 now there is no upgrade only refresh?

What exactly happened here I don’t understand how come the drone had a different version to what’s available on the assistant software?

Update: So I turned on the rc pro 2 and it said update available v01.00.1400 :man_shrugging: so for some reason the latest firmware between the rc pro 2 and the assistant is different :man_shrugging:

I’ve seen the firmware update as well, although I haven’t activated it yet, as I was doing something else. I shall report back…

Good old DJI removing firmware again

The latest is v01.00.1000, but was v01.00.1400

Do you think it’s a good idea to use the v01.00.1000 instead of the v01.00.1400 or stick with the 1400?

You downgraded, so you are stuck on v01.00.1000 for now

I can actually upgrade again through the controller somehow and I did so now it’s back on 1400 again :man_shrugging: my mind is boggled , Makes me wonder why they removed it tho.

It will have stored the Firmware on the controller, that’s why it’s letting you upgrade

Ahhh ok I didn’t know that, Wonder if they removed it for a reason, Do you think I should go back to the 1000?

If you think I should go back to the 1000 should I also downgrade the rc pro 2 firmware to the previous version or will that be fine on the latest and the drone on the 1000.

The latest for the RC Pro 2 is v01.00.0500, and I would stick to that

The drone I would probably downgrade as the 1400 has been removed

You could always ask DJI why it’s been removed

Thank you, Going to downgrade now, Do you know where abouts in the controller the firmware download would be stored as you can access the file system on the rc or 2,

My thinking is If I can delete it it will stop the prompts or is a factory reset the best route for that?

Or ignore the update prompt or factory reset

Thanks you for helping me I appreciate your time :slightly_smiling_face:

Normally, it’s clearthe cache in the fly app setting

Thanks I will give that a go

I updated just yesterday using the RC2, and I got the .1400 firmware.

If there is a discrepancy between tools, I’d suggest using the controller-offered version as there seems to be differences between that and the “app” version, with the “app” often being out of date from what I can see, assuming it is even updated.

I’ve yet to fly it, so can’t say if there is an issue with it or not. I hope not.

:man_shrugging:

Well I did have a few issues I posted the other day, I am getting drift when going forward it drifts to the right and we managed to determine that it wasn’t drifting when hovering so maybe it wasn’t drift, I have however just downgraded to the latest available version on the assistant which ends in .1000 so I am going to test again tomorrow see if that fixes the issue with it going off to the right when flying straight.

It could have been the firmware or it could not who knows yet

Hmm - I will look out for that and report back!

Must say drone firmware is a bit like computer updates a few years ago - only do it if it fixes something for you.
All our computers update on a daily basis these days for security fixes but I don’t think that applies to drones…..

The CAA published this notice in March 2025.

So I guess we have to follow the updates…
On the plus side it’s DJI’s fault if it all goes t*s up!

Spoke to DJI today and apparently v01.00.1400 is the latest firmware for the air 3s, It’s an issue with assistant 2 now showing, I did find some release notes at the bottom of the download section and it includes v01.00.1400,

Either way it’s very weird as I am sure I checked them release notes the other day and they only showed v01.00.1000 :man_shrugging:

Now I don’t know if it’s worth updating back to the 1400 version or just stay with 1000 for now
