DJI Avata Controller and Goggles Compatibilty

Hi.

I’m looking to buy a DJI Avata, either new or second hand, and would be grateful for any comments and advice. The DJI FPV stuff compatibility is a little confusing, so please forgive me if the questions seem a bit stupid!

I’d like to have the option to use the same goggles / controller for the DJI FPV. I may also look at a sub 250g HD cinewhoop somewhere down the line.

Here are my questions:

  1. Will the DJI FPV Remote Controller 2 work with the Avata and DJI FPV
  2. Will the DJI motion controller (1 and 2?) work with the Avata and DJI FPV
  3. Will DJI FPV Goggles V2, DJI Goggles 2 and Integra all work with Avata and DJI FPV
  4. Can I use the DJI Remote controller and / or goggles with, for example, GEPRC Cinebot30 HD?

I would appreciate any comments and words of advice.

Many thanks in advance.

1 - yes will work with both ( you need the FPV controller 2 in order to fly in Manual mode on the Avata)
2 - yes both will work but suggest you get the motion controller 2 as that has a reverse mode on it that the 1 does not and you can also use it on other DJI drones like the Mini 3 Pro
3 all them them will work with the Avata - not 100% sure on the DJI FPV the V2 and Goggles 2 yes just unsure about the Integra ones ( Integra also supports remote ID without a phone being connected - for possible remote IT use in the UK)
4 - someone in the FPV group here might be able to answer this - I only have an Avata with both the Motion and FPV 2 controllers - its wicked !

Many thanks for the info, much appreciated. I’m getting excited!

I’ll just answer that which hasn’t already.

  1. Will DJI FPV Goggles V2, DJI Goggles 2 and Integra all work with Avata and DJI FPV

Yes, V2, Goggles 2 and Integra work with both Avata and FPV according to the DJI website. Small clarification though, this may depend on firmware version that is installed on the Goggles so you might need to update to the latest version.

  1. Can I use the DJI Remote controller and / or goggles with, for example, GEPRC Cinebot30 HD?

This is a little confusing to answer so will try, The GepRC Cinebot 30 HD using a Vista VTX does work with both Goggles 2 and i would assume the Integra with DJI Remote Controller V2 at the same time. If you have the Goggles V2 you can’t use the Goggles V2 and the Remote controller V2 at the same time as the firmware drops support for the V2 when it add support for the RC2 and Goggles 2. To use the VTX with the Goggles V2 you need to use the Remote Controller V1 or have a seperate receiver board.

The GepRC Cinebot HD with O3 Air Unit allows the use of Goggles 2, Integra, and V2 with Remote Controller V2 fine. Obviously this is the most expensive version.

I’m pretty sure the V2 connects to all O3, Vista, FPV and Avata if updated to latest firmware.

Hopefully that makes sense.

Many thanks for the reply, much appreciated.

Thanks to you both for taking the time ro reply. I think I’ll prepare a ‘compatability grid’ containing all the info so that I can see at a glance what works with what. Cheers.

Not all the answers are here, but many … Controler and drone compatability - #4 by OzoneVibe

Very useful, many thanks.
