Took my AVATA 1 up to Scotland and got some great footage - still editing it atm - but some of the video has a judder or jellification to it, not sure why?
Its not on every bit of footage, nor at any one speed, but it does come and go, more so at slower speeds, so I am not sure if there is something loose or damaged - I did have a crash in a workshop a few weeks ago, but all seemed to be ok after replacing the props…
Anyhows, its on the footage at this starting point, anyone any ideas, or do I just contact DJI and ask them to sort it using Care Refresh? We are off to Skye again in 7 weeks, and I want to take the AVATA with me for flying in the Quirang and few other places…
I had this a little while ago on my mini 4 pro but only happened the once on a cold day put it down at the time to flying over my car which had a warm engine so put it down to thermal rising in the cold air
Ok, so after a thorough checkover, no issues were found, all nuts tightened - there were no loose ones, but I tweaked them up a bit - and I have removed the orange bumpers… Quick test flight and all seems to be fine…
Result… Now I need to take it out and test it properly… Hmm, where could I go and play at the weekend?
Possibly, I shant be refitting them, just need to go and find somewhere for a proper test fly at the weekend, I would go back to Bruar, but its a 10 hour round trip, so don’t think hubby will be up for that… Just need a similar stream or river…
Typically jello rears its ugly head in harsh sunlight so you may not notice it in a darker environment. Another trick to combat it is to use an ND filter to block the amount of light coming through to the sensor. It’s more of a sticking plaster solution though as ultimately it’s most likely to be a vibration issue so fix that and you’ll fix the jello.
Have you done the river Wyre (much nearer to you, I suspect)? You could get a good sequence behind the church there, where Nicola Bully fell in a couple years ago. I was from around there originally, and went back in ‘21 (to ‘see’ some relatives(’ graves) buried there). Whenever they showed the river on the news, it refreshed my newly-refreshed memory, reminding me what a pretty place it is. You don’t need to spend ten hours in the car! Garstang’s less than an hour along the M6. You might not be able to TOAL from the same bench, as Ms Bully’s phone was found on, but I bet you could follow a drone — walk alongside for VLOS — for a long way along that river. Having been quite entranced by the (your) Bruar footage referred to above, I bet you could make that work. You don’t need dramatic, rocky Scottish waterfalls every day of the week. Just don’t fall in!
