DJI Care Refresh procedure

Spent 6 months learning with Mini 4 Pro and decided it was good enough to run an auto follow of granddaughter on the zip wire. There were a couple of trees behind us which I thought were far enough away for it to fly alongside the wire.
I initially marvelled as it decided to fly wide around the first tree but then got the sick feeling as the height increased and it got tangled in the thin, leafless branches of the second tree.
It dropped to the ground with a twitching camera until I turned the drone off. Looks like the camera mounting has broken so I’m rather glad I went for the Care Refresh option.
I can hear the nodding, eyes rolling and mutterings of ā€œā€¦plonkerā€ already, (quite justified), but my question is about the Care Refresh procedure. Firstly do I send it back with the battery and original box? (It’s the Fly more option so rather oversized.) And I’m a bit confused about mentions of investigation, express or not, credit card pre-charging etc.
I guess if it takes a couple of weeks that’s my fault for screwing up and I’ll have to bear with it.
Can someone give me a basic run through of the procedure?
Many Thanks & Happy(??) New Year to you all.

You’ll have your drone back within 5 days mate. Sent 3 off mini 3, avata and air 2s. One of em got back within 3, how they done that I don’t know. With the Air2s I said the battery was fooked and I was sending it off, I never ( just to try it on, seeing as I’ve given Dji multiple 1000s),got the drone back with new battery.

The Avata I sent off was due to the ā€˜unforseen lefty flight problem’ that dji didn’t recognize, I said something about the battery then and they sent a new one. Job done. Not saying you should follow suite, but there you go.

The procedures dead easy, you’ll get a few things to print, shipping label etc, take it to a UPS point that’s it. They’ve always been good as gold and a few other people will tell you the same.

Mine went to Holland, but I’m sure I’ve read they’ve got a place in the midlands. I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong.

Good luck

Thanks chaps - I’ll dig in and see how it goes.

It is good you had the care refresh. Always a good option even if you do not use it you do get the piece of mind. I did not realise that one of our drones care refresh had expired. DJI asked us to send in a video of the gimble calibration, date, time, settings etc… They authorised it. Although when I tried to buyt it I was told it was invalid. When I looked at the acceptance e-mail I noticed that they changed our mini 3 pro into a mini 4 pro. I told them it had not grown up and they sent me a new acceptance e-mail and now it is covered again.

When your drone comes back it will be a recon (rare occasions will they send the same one back). A repair a while back when a tree jumped out on a cliff we did want our drone back as it was our drone and we were attached to it (daft I know). They did put that on the form but a re con on comes back They have a pile of them on the shelf ready to go. As soon as yours is returned the replacement is shipped. I have to say that DJI are a really good company. Nice to have a good back up when things go wrong.
