DJI Flight Data Center - Upload Failed

I’m currently unable to sync flights from my RC 2. Anyone else having any issues? I have auto upload failed and have tried retriggering it a few times, but keep getting an error “Upload failed. Try again”. Firmware etc up to date.

Try pairing the RC to your mobile phone hotspot to rule out a potential home-network issue.

Found out it’s very low on disk space. Managed to clear some cache which freed up a bit and the upload worked now (well, 1 of the 4 did). I’ve no idea what is utilising the space though as I can’t see what else to clear - 21GB of 21.6GB still used, of which the fast majority is labelled as “other”. I could whack an SD card in there if needed but does it really use >97% of space by default?

Depends on your video caching settings

Mounted it to my laptop and found the offending media folder. I’ll have to find that to turn that off. I’ve cleared it fully now but 3 of the flight records still aren’t uploading for some reason, and I’ve tried a different network to rule that out. It initially says upload successful, and then about 5-10 seconds later pops up with “3 flight records not updated”. I’ll keep digging.

:+1:t2:

Interesting

I take it you can see which three? Are they the three most recent flights?

Just confirm that’s the exact error message please, including the full stop?

So the error I’m currently getting in Flight Data Center is “3 flight records not uploaded”, with an upload button to the right of that message (no other full stops). When I click upload, it shows them uploading, says “Upload Successful”, and then the “not uploaded” message appears again.

It doesn’t list which 3 flights but they’re certainly the ones from today. There were 4 in total, and one of the 3 said it uploaded when I cleared down the disk space, though it isn’t actually on AirData, so I’m assuming its not uploaded either with the other 3.

I had this the other month ( twice )
This is what solved it for me,
Logged out of my account on the fly app & logged back in - my problem was, when I logged in I got one of the letters wrong in the email address attached to my account ( can’t remember what ) may have been lower or upper case wrong, anyway - logged back in double checked the email was correct then I got the flight logs,
Also worth noting make sure in your settings on your RC2 that your time zone/location is the country your in, as the second experience where this happened was because it was in china time zone, I must have changed it messing around with the controller but not realised, this worked for me good luck :+1:

Edit : just to add - the first time round with the email saga I was chatting with DJI live whilst doing it & they were the ones that noticed my email was incorrect but it was still logged in.

Thanks for the tips.

Re-authenticating didn’t work unfortunately. :expressionless_face:

The e-mail was listed as correct. They shouldn’t be case sensitive though (if DJI are doing it properly :upside_down_face:) so I’ll assume it was the mere act of you reauthenticating that resolved the issue for you. The app probably just displays your e-mail in the case which was used when you signed in initially.). Time zone is also correct so I’m at a bit of a loss unfortunately.

Shame that, sorry wasn’t case sensitive ( I remembered ) after posted - first time round on the email I forgot to put an ( e ) in but it still logged me in as said, but you’ve tried anyway :+1:

That’s bizarre! Surprised that let you in

Right, I’ve discovered something which suggests the problem here, and I think this is probably going to be down to the disk space issues I had earlier. Some of the flight logs look corrupt & also duplicated, with most not showing I even landed. I’m fairly certain I only had 4 flights today, but here is what I’m seeing:

Flight 1) 1.79 km, 109 m, 19 min
Flight 2) 1.79 km, 109 m, 14 min

Flight 3) 2.07 km, 109 m, 19 min

Flight 4) 84 m, 106 m, 10 min
Flight 5) 84 m, 106 m, 1 min

I think this is probably game over territory in terms of recovering the true data, and I’m just going to have to delete them. Not having an accurate odometer on Airdata is very unsatisfying

Edit: If anyone does know if there’s a way to recover flight data that would be appreciated, but I presume they’re gone. I have seen one post though which suggests the drone itself may keep a flight log?
