I have a Mini 1 and although it is not one of the listed models on the DJI simulator the controller does work with it for basic manoeuvres. The controller for the Mini 2 is different though, so I can’t personally confirm whether it will work with the simulator. Maybe somone who has one could comment.
However…
They really don’t.
Once they’re up in the air, which can be done with the push of a single button, you move a stick, the drone moves in that direction, you let go of the sticks, it stops where it is.
I don’t think the DJI simulator was really much of a learning tool to be honest. I certainly wouldn’t go to the trouble of buying a controller on its own just for that purpose.
Just get your Mini 2 and by all means see if the DJI sim works for you, but if you’ve already flown any sort of drone I don’t think you’ll have any trouble with it.
