Can you clarify please? old / new limits etc…
It’s all on the gov website.
Used to be great everything free from EU (obviously) and outside EU (e.g. China and the US) anything under £15 or so was VAT free and frictionless to import. Bought hundreds of items from Aliexpress without issue or any charges.
Now everything attracts VAT and if under £135 retailer has to collect the supply VAT themselves and remit to HMRC. Which is obviously a huge ballache for most people exporting to UK. Worse, consignments over £135 will have import VAT collected at the border which usually also comes with a ~£30 processing fee. This also appears to be happening if the vendor wasn’t aware they should be collecting VAT for HMRC.
Long story short everything used to come in easily from US and China especially as it was almost always marked as less than £15 value. Now it’s impossible to avoid VAT and you’re much much more likely to be stung with handling fees on top. Plus every little mom n pop shop anywhere in the world that occasionally ships more than £135 in one parcel to the UK is burdened with registering for UK VAT.
Ted looks not too overly impressed.
Ow!
Narstyyyy
Thought I was missing something as couldn’t find the DJI Virtual Flight app anywhere…
Then saw the footnote:
10. The DJI Virtual Flight app currently supports only iOS devices.
Dicks
Ian it’s going to take nearly 40% of the flight battery to update the software on the bird, controller, goggles and the motion controller.
Be prepared for a wait. Takes ages
The beauty of a self build hardly any firmware updates and you haven’t gotta waste a battery to do the updates that you have got to do lol
I bought it at 13:58 yesterday haha!
Hmm, I just ordered something from Aliexpress and they charged VAT, don’t know about Bg.
From 11PM 31 December 2020, AliExpress is required by law to collect UK Value-Added Tax (VAT) at the applicable rate and remit to the UK tax authority when goods are sold to UK customers (i) where the goods are located outside the UK at the point of sale with a consignment value of GBP135 or less, or (ii) where the goods are in the UK at the point of sale, but sold by an overseas seller. For more information, please visit: VAT and overseas goods sold to customers in the UK using online marketplaces - GOV.UK
I ordered spotlights from eBay seller it stated one price but on checkout it added another £8, I queried it with seller and was unsure why themselves and blamed eBay, I needed more few weeks later went to the same seller but price gone up by £8 and no added fees at checkout
Ridiculous thing is I set only for UK sellers and even if they look like there on mainland UK 90% are not and I judge more on delivery times then on location.
Banggood do offer a tariff insurance on items in case it get whammed. But it doesn’t cover handling costs.
OMG.
I NEED more batteries this is ace
Was waiting to see what you thought.
Any videos so far?
Just got back. It’s ace.

Batteries don’t last long enough I’m just about to buy 2 more that will make 4
BRB with video etc.
Is it evil and cynical of me to say I laughed my proverbial tits off reading this?
well, all I can say about that is, he/she shouldn’t have been flying one.
they are so easy to fly, granted, I, as yet have not flown manual mode yet. need more practice for that.
I only used the motion controller didn’t bother with the standard controller and this thing is awesome.
In the goggles screen you have a box, in this box is a circle, this is where the drone will go when flying, you move the controller like a fighter jet up, down, left right. pull the trigger and off she goes.
right so 2 more batteries on the way tomorrow, so that should give me more room for playing.
Gotta admit that sounds pretty good.
Really having to stopmyself from pushing the button and buying one
