DJI FPV RC3 & SpeedyBee Bee25 2.5″ DJI O3 Air Unit compatibility

I considering purchasing the SpeedyBee Bee25 2.5″ drone with DJI O3 Air Unit fitted.

Upon talking to the store, they have advised me that whilst the Goggles 3 are compatible, the DJI FPV RC3 is not, because the manufacturer has has disabled it.

However it can be sorted by fitting an additional cable and tinkering with the set up software.

Because this will be my first FPV drone, would anyone know if this is true and will the additional cable need to soldered or is it plug in.

Thanks in advance

Did they not say what this would entail :man_shrugging:

As for wiring did they remove the DJI HDL and GND?

In Betaflight, setting up the Sbus

They’ve advised I will need to purchase this cable.

Which is not expensive.

And it’s plug in, so I won’t have the solder it either.

Which is a good job, because I don’t own a soldering iron and won’t know where to start :joy:

But you will need to once you break it :joy:

I think it’s because they are only compatible with the o4 (avata 2) and the stand alone unit when it comes out.

The fpv controller 2 would work - I used mine on an 03 build recently but would mean a bit of configuration fun with Betaflight which I found frustrating tbh.
You may be able to pick an FPV controller 2 for a good price this time of year.

Failing that its a case of a new controller and rx.

ELRS seems to be the cheapest, personally I use crossfire but this would of course cost you more.

But that’s not compatible with

Ah yeah, well until they decide to update the firmware.

In which case you need to go down the other route of getting another rx and tx such as tbs or Elrs

He can use the Goggles 3 with the FPV 3 controller but he will need to use the new cable and configure the Sbus in betaflight

I thought the O3 was compatible with the Goggles 3 & FPV RC3.

Mad tech recently discussed the problems with the G3 & RC3 with the O3 air unit and the firmware update that fixed it. So I assume the RC3 is compatible

I’ll have to do my research, how to do this.

However the SpeedyBee Bee25 2.5″ drone with DJI O3 Air Unit fitted, is great value at just under £300 and the reviewers on YT are all giving good reviews.

Should be pretty straight forward, however I suspect you may need to solder at some point.

Goggles 2 but it should be the same process
