Wondering where this statement comes from…? Mini 5 Pro is a mighty beast to beat… (thinking primarily of that nice big 1" sensor…)
See Skylo’s post 31st January.
The article referred to, like everything else about these two supposed products, are pure speculation. I feel you’re unlikely to get a Mini 5 Pro replacement so soon after its release. It may get rebranded, but replaced? I can’t see it
2019 - Mini released
2020 - Mini 2 released
2022 - Mini 3 released
2023 - Mini 4 released
2025 - Mini 5 released
I wouldn’t be surprised at all
Lito X1 defo not a Mini 5 Pro replacement… ![]()

The irony/frustration of them launching the Lito on the same day they’ll finally be shipping the Avata 360 isn’t lost on me…
My 1st DJI drone was the mini 5 pro which i got towards the end of December. Because im new to DJI I’m not sure how they handle release schedules, but would they seriously be looking to replace a drone that’s only been out just over 6 months? When I bought the Mini 5, I made the assumption that it was the mini 4 pro’s replacement, the way folk are talking in the this post leads you think the 4 is superior to the 5. I’m getting the Avata 360 when it’s available, and I guess you can’t get everything?
I’ve a Mini 4 Pro - it certainly isn’t superior to the Mini 5 Pro, but it’s sufficiently close, for what I do, to mean that I wasn’t interested in upgrading. I thought it most unlikely that the Lito X1 would be a replacement for the Mini 5 Pro too, an opinion confirmed as correct by Ian:
It’s very easy to get caught up in the whole new, latest, best thing, but many folks on here are still flying much older drones (Mini 2s and 3s) quite happily, and they are still delivering what they want from them. My advice: just because something newer has appeared doesn’t mean that what you currently have is no longer fit for purpose. Be happy with the kit you have bought, and upgrade or augment when a new model is significantly better, or has significantly different functionality, from your current equipment. People frequently get excellent results from the kit they are familiar with; the best camera is the one you have with you, and know how to use the best. ![]()
Very true but also…
I think you’ll find a few around here that do. ![]()
(Doesn’t mean you have to, of course.)
Not quite 6 months, but this is their track record
Top two pics look okay but last pic defo fake; Partial cable lower right and partial prop; neither have the Lito X1 or Lito 1 labelling on the front right leg as looking at it; the gimbal mount frame is wrong and the corner profile of the legs are wrong. Ted knows what the leg corners really look like… ![]()
Ted seems as interested in this as the rest of us ;o)
Dji after all the various social media posts is releasing both new Lito drones with a special event on April 26th at midday.
should be a interesting watch.
The unused to be, years ago.
DJI used to hire big venues and do live on-stage events that would last for ages.
Now a DJI release is just a two minute pre-recorded video on YouTube ![]()
