DJI M30 Thermal - Quick video of it in action in the UK

For those of you interested, I have the new M30T  and here’s some video of it in use!

Its quite an incredible bit of kit!

The image stability at 200x zoom is a bit nuts!

Bizarrely the zoom lens has better low light performance than the wide angle.

It has a starlight mode too where it will work in VERY low light! Last night I was using it in moonlight!

Things have come some way since my Phantom 2 with a GoPro 3 Black with no live video stream.

Definitely :+1::ok_hand::heart:

I was watching but I never seen any indication of heat but you went onto zoom in accurately on target of the deer ?

There was a tiny “dot” in the thermal view, its hidden behind the cross-hairs a bit.

I have my eye in now for spotting deer as pixels in thermal so I was straight on it

I’ll do one that makes use of the thermal zoom too!

How’s about an Avata Thermal? I kid ye not

This isn’t mine it’s me mates. The image quality apparently is of better quality than M30T, it’s main aim will be to carry out inspection work.
There’s a dvr behind the camera with an SD card slot.
Mad, eh? :joy:

Wow! Is he expecting to go looping through tunnels or the tube? Pretty cool! Ask him to share a video of it in action please! I’d love to see it!

Haha, I don’t think any ‘proper’ cinewoop stuff, a bit more sedate than that. It works really, really well and the transmission from the camera back to the display is sorted out through this Star Trek kind of 3d printed antenna box with the signal strength of a NASA telescope😂, not that the FCC signal goes that far though for the drone😂.
I’ll ask if he can supply footage👍

Looks a tasty bit of kit. Are the thermal images usable with FLIR Tools or just DJIs analytics.

They are radiometric, and def usable with DJI, but I cannot say as my work isnt thermal inspections so I never need to analyse the JPGs for temp etc. If I get time I’ll pull one off and share it for you to play with. You prob know far more than I do about radiometric images!

OK cheers :+1:

Looks great!

Although those props showing up in the video, not so great.

I assume that you are using this professionally?

Thats the FPV view, not intended for imaging from, it’s for the pilot to fly with while other controller does the other camera. I never use it to be honest. I’m used to flying from the main camera or in thermal at night.

Yeah its used professionally.
