i have just purchased a mavic 3 pro fly more combo, the drone i fine no problems, but the dji rc controller is a disappointment, it wont connect to my ipad , or any outher device, my mavic 2 pro is completely different it works perfectly , how could they put a controller of this standard with a great drone, its begger belief, and having to get a new controller will cost £900.
this is unreasonable after paying £2099 for the kit. my advice is dont buy it
What controller cost £900 ? If your on about the RC Pro you can pick them up much cheaper now,
Have you not thought of getting an RC-N1 & pair the iPad with that & would be a cheaper option, there’s one for sale brand new in For Sale & Wanted thread
I bought a package and expected it to work like the mavic 2 pro , having to buy another controller straight away is not on
Send it back
I like the drone but not the controller
If its faulty then return it, where did you buy it from?
Also have you connected the cable to the correct port in the controller
It’s not faulty , they did not bother to build that feature in, when usb is connected it just charges the controller. For some reason the n1 works and also the dji rc pro , but not the dji rc.
The cable is in the correct port, and i have checked the cable on other devices including a mavic 2 pro
I am lost
What are you trying to achieve by connecting a DJI RC to an iPad
Using it to set way points and control the settings on a bigger screen, i can do this on my other drone, with no problems
Ive updated the title to a more descriptive one
The DJI RC is a cheap controller, personally, I use the RC-N1
At £200 to £300 that’s not cheap, it should be as good or better than the n1
I agree, but its a pile of
That’s probably why DJI discontinued it and brought out the RC 2, which has HDMI out
No need for a phone though , and that’s the payoff when u want to use a bigger screen
Personally I don’t use any with screens for this very reason
They are still selling the mavic 3 pro with the dji rc , if id known this, i would not have bought it in the first place
I’m not sure I’m following this either
Even if the DJI RC did have HDMI-out, and you somehow found a way to pipe that video feed output in to your iPad HDMI-in port, that still wouldn’t work.
It’d just be mirroring what’s on the RC screen to another screen, you’d not be able to interact with any apps over an HDMI-out connection?
eg. If you connected the DJI RC to the TV in your living room, you’d not be able to use the TV to set waypoints either.
I’m not interested in an hdmi output, if i had the dji rc pro or the n1 i could use the dji fly app on my i pad fully , as i do on my mavic 2 pro , but the dji rc is not a good controller, and having to buy another controller just after i buy a new drone , is totally stupid, its like buying a new car and having to replace the steering wheel because its not quite complete. The dji rc is not a good controller
No, you absolutely couldn’t. That’s not how it works.
I it was called dji go 4 , which i no is not mavic 3 pro compatible, even if it was it still would not connect. I have been advised by dji that the dji pro will do what i want to do or the n1 , it still not fair having to buy a new controller, after 2 week.
As above:
The RC-N1 is the only way you can use the DJI Fly app on an Apple iPad with a Mavic 3 Pro.
