DJI Mavic 4 Pro - Rumours, leaks, gossip and general discussion

@JoeC hi :waving_hand: Joe. Was just reading over some of these earlier posts where @NYanakiev was flying at Bartlett Park in London. Wouldn’t the flights be ok under Article 16? Or have i got this wrong?

I don’t fly under Article 16 but as I understand the rules, yes it would be okay (and I have faith in Good 2 Go :+1: ).

If I were to fly there under Article 16 I’d do a risk assessment first though - pretty sure I remember my FPVUK handbook saying that’s a requirement to demonstrate it’s safe to fly in a public park.

You would need to be part of a club that offered this.

At the moment GADC does not AFAIK - although it might change in the future.

Some great info there- just joined another club covered under Article 16. 30m away from people in all directions in recreational areas for non-commercial flights.

Yeap. London

Call to all Mavic4 owners, help with observation. Having watched a you tube video where the presenter observed a slight vibration on one his props I noted to checked my own Mavic 4. Whereas I am normally a few feet from my drone when it’s launched, yesterday after staring up the props I stood over my drone and observed each of the props in turn. Whereas the coloured markings on the prop tops formed a neat steady ring on three of the props when spinning, I can see a slight blur/scintillation in the coloured ring atop the rear right prop when looking at the drone from directly above.

Can other users advise if they can see this in their drones. Might this be a consequence of the control mechanism whereas this prop is used for synchronisation? Or is this an indication that the motor/ prop is misaligned or unbalanced.

Today I will try fitting one of my spare prop sets to see if this alleviates the observation. New to drones, I would greatly appreciate advice from other owners.

For information. the drone has not been involved in any drops or flight incidents that might have led to this observation. As a newby I opted for 2 years DJI refresh when I purchased the drone package.

Thanks Martin

Tagging @group-mavic-4 for you Martin @Submariner

Be sure not to use it.

If this is an issue, it’s a warranty issue. Don’t let DJI force you in to using one of your two replacements

Thanks @PingSpike for the advice for sure I will ask for it to be managed under warranty.

I had the same with my first Air 3S mate, it had a dodgy camera sensor, they replaced it under normal warranty as I insisted they not use the Care Refresh I had bought

There is good news, I swapped over the appropriate coloured props and the apparent wobble shifted over to the opposite arm, and appeared more pronounced. Replaced the prop set with a new spare and wobble all but gone.

Intend discussing matter with supplier to determine if this is an outlier of something to keep an eye on.

Good news, Dronesafe store are sending a replacement prop set and have agreed to pass on my experience to DJI.

Great news, thanks for sharing the update @Submariner

Just back from the Italian Dolomites. Captured some truly stunning photos and videos with the Mavic 4 Pro.

Had some issues with the obstacle avoidance sensors producing incorrect warning prompts and with strong vibration when on the ground.

The whole package is now on its way to DJI UK, I hope they will swap it out for a new one.

Now on its way back to me- I am led to believe that DJI sent out a sealed Cine combo. Will find out on Saturday in the morning.

They agreed to replace the drone not due to the wobble on take off or due to the obstacle avoidance fake alerts mid-air but due to the creaking of one of the arms. Had to to some convincing to make sure I get a new drone and not an equivalent to new.

Great drone otherwise, I just hope some of those early problems are resolved promptly.
