Hi all
Yes it’s me again
Last night I took my drone out ( just one battery ) in the attempt to take a couple of pics were poss & try do a video just for a test as tbh I’ve only ever just really flown the drone - however after taking a few tips on yaw - smoothness - & all that for a cinematic kinda footage - well while I was making adjustments for yaw pitch etc ( I took my eyes off the drone & nearly smashed into a building ) I actually thought I was at around 200 feet ( no around 73 ft !!! ) to my horror when I could hear the drone behind a tree but in between the tree & the building I noticed the drone was only I’d say about 18 inches 2 ft to the side of a construction going up ! Not being able to see as it was quite dark I was not sure how the best way to get the drone away from the building ( all I could pic was it smashing into the building & dropping ) game over !
So I just hit the return to home & prayed thank the lord it got me out of there but all that said I think for a novice ( like myself ) get out more and especially in the day before trying to do things in the dark - so my question to you peeps out there is - is it actually possible to get a half decent footage with a MA2 at night video or photo as what I got to me it just looks c@@p
I know how to fly the drone but when it comes to this camera footage / edit colour grading etc I haven’t got a damn clue - yes daytime ok but where do you start at night ( it’s beyond me ) I know the MA2 is not the most advanced but how are people getting the footage they have ! If anyone has anything shot with MA2 & you could kindly share to show it can be done or should I be getting rid of the drone & starting again any thoughts & help would be great before the drone is prehistoric
if someone can kindly show me it can be done I’ll think about sharing the rubbish I done last night looooool deal or no deal !
Regards
Btw it looks worse on the MacBook And I probally didn’t even have all the fps and that malarkey set up right & do you know why that is !!!
Because I haven’t got a clue I admit defeat but usually I’m not a quitter arrrghhhhh
Sorry just to add everything looks smoother on my I phone ( 12 ) rather than my Mac it’s still rubbish tho
Probably worth posting the results here so that anyone wanting to advise can see your starting point?
Thankyou @OzoneVibe is the post in the right place @PingSpike moved it ….
Kind regards
My advice if you are in a tricky spot (I’ve been there) is not to hit the return to home, let the drone hover, get your bearings and the drone direction in order and then get out of whatever situation you are in.
To emphasise what @markas said above - if it all turns to rats just let go of the sticks. The bird will stop where it is & hover. You take a deep breath, get your bearings and begin to fly it again.
Also, a pair of strobes might help. Different colours back & front so you can see which way it’s pointing.
Yes I had luckily enough let go of the sticks it was in the alcove of a construction going up and very dark shan’t be night flying till I’ve built my confidence back up - need to get out more in the day first !
Give our friend and fellow member Ian in London a look on YouTube, he’s got loads of information on his channel, which will probably sort you out. There’s quite a few other channels that have info on camera settings as well.
Thanks mate - I do watch Ian’s videos recently I’ll check bk threw his channel
