DJI Mavic Mini (Fly As You Are)

Then it’s in full stealth mode :see_no_evil::hear_no_evil:

Hi , new to forum, and interested in mavic mini. But have to wait to see if crystal sky is compatible since it uses a new app.
No doubt it will emerge soon.

Welcome to Grey Arrows @10quidquad

I don’t see why it wouldn’t work on a CS, it’s only an Android app after all.

Thanks for reply. Although it is android, I gather it doesn’t work with some Mavics or tello, so I would like to be sure.

The CS is only compatible with Occusync 2, I believe. Not seen what is used on the MM.

Wasn’t that only the Smart Controller, Dave?

CS works with everything I believe? (hence assuming the Mini will be no different)

The Mavic Mini uses Enhanced Wi-Fi, same as the Mavic Air :+1:t2:

Hi again , thanks for response. The CS works fine with my spark,( which is not I understand occusync.)

With tello , it works but in black and white, though its photos are stored in colour.

No help from dji when I raised it, so will have to wait until things get clearer.

Things are changing fast, and I now see that the sub 250 gram limit may be more or less irrelevant anyway next year, since mavic mini has a camera.

Was hoping for some less stressful flying, but perhaps I was premature.

DJI have been drip feeding some Mavic Mini tutorials to their YouTube account over the last few days.

Firmware update? lozl

And this one today:

Re FCC/CE model differences.

Copied verbatim from another forum, accuracy/legitimacy therefore unknown but sharing here as an “FYI”.

Interesting how everyone is saying how noisy the Spark is yet in the test by FlytPath it is also the quietest at 100 ft.

I really can’t see what all the fuss is about with the Mini, okay, you don’t have to register as it is sub 250 but you still have to follow the same rules as any other, am I missing something here?

Yes it is impressive but I really don’t see what all the hype is about, just saying.

Hmm, I’m having second thoughts… Do I really need a Mini in addition to Pro… Is the tiny size that great? The Pro’s not exactly huge.

Just found out that there are two battery versions available.

If you want the “extended “ flight time then you need the larger capacity battery which, apparently, takes the craft over the 250g limit.

I wonder how many will not realise this and fall foul of the regs?

Not actually correct … see this post above …

Ok. So, for clarity, are you saying that even with the larger battery it’ll still come in at under our 250g limit?

My source, for the record:

https://youtu.be/g3e4UxoA06c

If you look at the specs for the UK model …

… you’ll see that the t/o weight of 249g (top of that page) includes the larger battery (about 2/3 the way down that page).

No worries.
I’ve referred the link to Matt Williams, the host of Mr MPW for his comment.
If/when he gets back, I’ll post his reply.
Thanks for the clarification, sorry for the confusion.

Take care and catch you later. Peter
