And Currys are claiming delivery the day after release day:
So the question now becomesā¦
Cancel the DJI order and take a punt on a UK supplier having stock on release day?
Or sit tight and wait till December from DJI?
Or order both and cancel the order that doesnāt arrive first.
(Beware! Sodās Law will ensure the second one arrives only hours after the first.
)
Ha, I did consider that too
Another option, if these are going to be readily available at launch (11th Nov) cancel the DJI one and order from a US stockist instead
Although Iām wondering if the FCC mode might be restricted based on GPS location. History tells us thatās the case, but then DJI have never had two hardware models before.
But if that is the case, weāll at least find a way around that.
Iām also wondering if the radio hardware is actually any different at all. Manufacturing costs would be significantly higher if they did go that route. The CE model might just be running a different firmware branch.
It could be that the RC has a different transmitter ⦠so not that expensive to have two versions.
If thatās the case ⦠just buy an American RC.
mental note to myself (Important) must get used to the m2p first.
banned myself, at least I will be able to afford xmas pressy for wifey now.

Iām sure sheāll be really surprised receiving a Mavic Mini.
If it does turn out to be 2 hardware versions FCC is always going to be in the back of your mind.
Tough one

The plan being (at the moment) as suggested above, to cancel the DJI order if the Amazon one ships first.
But what if the DJI one ships first?!
Arrrgghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhā¦
Thatās only the regular Mini, not the flymore combo
Couldnāt find the flymore on .com (from Amazon themselves) for some reason
Will the Chinese versions have the FCC mode?
Had a look on Banggood, £488 for fly more combo and around £30 back from TCB. Not available for pre order yet though.
Now thinking about it, itāll probably come with the smaller battery
Thatās for Japan ⦠not China where Bangood are located.
The high pitch could be quite irritating but then itās not as bad as the spark .
You wonāt hear it when itās 400 ft up.
Yeah but where is the fun at 400ft
She sure sounds an angry bird.
Iād be lucky to see it at 400 feet up!
