Dji mini 3 pro with rc controller 2 sd card's?

i have just bought a dji mini 3 pro with rc controller and got a free sd card with it but where do i put it in the drone or the rc , i have read that it needs to go in the rc so as to enable firmware updates , also read that it needs to go in drone for picture and video downloads , please help , i will get another sd card but delivery will take a couple of days and i want to get flying today

If you want to record high quality footage it needs to go in the drone.

The SD card in the RC (controller) is meant for screen recording - which is (much) lower quality than the drone footage. The screen recording also records the on screen data display ie speed, altitude etc. This data does not appear on the drone footage. :+1: :+1: :+1:

As @Jhdee says, put it in the drone to record the best quality footage, a second SD card can go in the controller for screen recording and as a backup - I keep my spare in there so if I ever go out withut the drone SD card I have a backup card I can use

Hi bobydazler and welcome to drone flying. The sd card goes in the back of the drone next to the charge port. You do not need a sd card for the firmware updates as thats taken care of with its internal storage. the sd port in the controler is at the bottom under the blue rubber. Hope that helps.
And before I forget when you do the updates make sure you repeat them with each battery that you have as sometimes the updates affect the batteries aswell.
