DJI Mini 4 Pro - Map App Not Installed

Mini 4 Pro, I thought I would check the Find My Drone Feature as It would be good to have used it before it becomes a necessity. The Flashing and beeping work, And I have a Map of the world and a last Recorded Location showing. If I zoom in there are no markers indicating the drone or my position (I walked away about 10 yards. If I tap “Use other maps”, I get a pop up “Map App not installed”. I’ve searched on DJI site using Map, Map App, and Find to no avail. Is there something else I have missed? My drone and controller are both Updated, so I am puzzled why It doesn’t appear to be working as a Youtube video says it does

Does it still give the same error when the controller is actively connected to wifi?

I was at home, and did an update, so yes I was on my WiFi

Hi @Rayandbar - Did you find a solution to this? Newbie here with a Mini 4 Pro, and I think I have a similar issue. The map view defaults to a map of the world. I can zoom in to see where I am, but it always defaults back to the whole world. If I click “find my drone” I get the same “Map App not installed” message.

Sorry, no one had a solution for me, I just hope I never need to use it as I will be up Sh1t creek without a paddle! :smiley:

What controller are you using, as this sounds like a Fly app issue

I am using the RC2. The map is working perfectly well on the app on my phone.

Ok so it’s a RC 2 issue

It it on the latest firmware

Have you done a factory reset snd a firmware refresh

I have only had the drone for less than 2 weeks so just assumed I was doing something wrong! Can certainly do a factory reset if you think it will help though.

The world map in the corner is how the map always seems to appear.

Surely that map will automatically zoom in once the drone has enough satellites to update its home point ?

Ah I see. I assumed it needed WiFi connection instead of satellite. My bad. As I said, complete newbie so apologies for the embarrassing questions!

Well .. check outside with everything with enough satellites first. :+1:

Internet connection for the actual detailed map data .. but it needs your location to know which maps too load for that detail.

Will do :blush: in my previous 3 flights I was so worried about messing up I completely forgot to look at the map, to be honest :joy::joy::joy:

TBH .. I have rarely bothered with maps. I know where I am (when sober), and never found I needed the map detail.
