Trying to find a definitive answer as to whether the mini 4k in the UK has Remote ID or not. Searches on the interweb give both answers, yes and no.
Reason for asking is my daughter/son-in-law have asked if I can do a look at their roof, normal house so no need to fly very high. Unfortunately they are about 30/40 yards inside the perimeter FRZ for Leeds Bradford airport.
This hardly seems to warrant the process of contacting ATC etc, but would I have problems just doing this without permission ?
Yes it does have RID but here in the Uk it wont transmit the details as its not a requirement and is geo locked
But
Your drone will be transmitting DJI id and most if not all Uk airports have an Aeroscope that will see the drone instantly, all the drones data and the pilots location will be available to them
Do not fly the drone inside a FRZ without permission from ATC, if you do expect a knock on the door as you will be in trouble

Applying for permission is a fairly straitforward process and in my experience of my local airport very accomadating especially being on the very edge where aircraft should have reached a substantial height. Go for it, it will help boost your confidence in the process for other flights within FRZ’s.
