I just bought the mini 4 pro. I wish I had enough to buy the mavic 4 pro.
Same here no new drones I think until ā¦..
I will be looking for a drone with a better telescopic camera that weighs in under 900 grams when the new C1 kicks in. The old Mavic 3, the original version at 850 gms with itās telescopic Haselbad camera looks the deal. Think DJI are wrong footedly continuing with the mini sub 250gm series.
The Air 3s looks good to.
Iāve still got the Mini 2, canāt fault it.
But the Mini 5 might finally twist my arm to upgrade.
Not too sure I will buy another mini. I am not too impressed with stills quality. It is almost like even my phone has better IQ compared to mini 4 pro.
I am very interested if we indeed will get less restrictive rules from JAN 2026 for sub-900g drones. In which case I am all in on the old MAVIC 3 / Classic. Sadly 3 PRO or 4 are over 900g so still no go
The DJI MINI range of drones are great for flying close in to folks, and are somewhat less intrusive than their bigger brethren, although I have an AIR3 as well as my MINI3 Pro, I have a feeling I will be getting a MINI5 Pro to use in those situations that the AIR3 is just too noisy or larger, or there is a chance I will need to overfly uninvolved people⦠Donāt get me wrong, I love my AIR3 - and my AVATA 1+2 - and also love my MINI3 Pro, which hardly gets any use any more as most of my flying is in places that I need the AIR3 to handle winds and the faster speed works for me, but having a MINI drone allows me the flexibility to do moreā¦
Check out this other thread for the legalities @dtr
It may answer some questions
This is a much darker grey than the Mini 4 Pro.
Is that for testing or because the drone is over 250g?
Itās a very poor quality photo in a rumours thread, who knows
Very happy with my Mini 3 Pro.
It would have to have a banging update to make me part with the cash.
I have still hardly used the Maverick air Iāve got itās either weather is against you. Thereās no place to go and fly because of air restrictions Iām working.
So I cannot see the point in buying another drone and make it worth spending out it would be nice to even be able to get the virtual one on the screen working but thatās got problems. My poor Maca and another year will be restricted again even with the qualification the ca2 and all the rest really not sure.
I think thatās how I feel about the Mini 2
My fear is forced obsolescence, as so many companies across so many sectors seem to employ these days
I have the Mini 3, so happy to upgrade.
Plus I need to remember it reduces my corporation tax bill a bit and I get the vat back as a company expense
Same here, twinned with the Avata 2 and Neo it ticks all te boxes.
That and its gonna be well north of a grand for flymore ;o(
I was wondering the same
My thoughts/advice to anyone wishing to purchase the Mini 5 would be : āIf you are. looking to buy a drone - or your first drone - the Mini 5 would be a good choice - but if you have a drone and have no issues with it - why bother ?ā Itās a bit like the old expression āKeeping up with the Jonesāsā - pointless . If you take the whole photographic/video issue into account - the majority of viewers would not know whether they were 4K or 40K - and as 90% of people only view in 1920x1080p - itās only the āanoraks/nerdsā who always want the latest kit - with no disrespect to them !
All the gear no idea
All the clobber still a knobber
Same as this
Though with that said, I have no issues at all with the Mini 4 pro, but I also have a recurring project for which a 1" sensor and (supposed) 50 minute flight-time would be an absolute godsend.
Enough to justify shelling out £1500? Probably not. But definitely enough to spend £20 on some competition tickets when the time comes
I will definitely be getting the mini 5 as the rumoured spec looks good. The camera on the 4 was the same as the 3 except for the filter mount which was annoying and lost them a sale so not worth swopping. I suspect the 3/4 batteries will will fit in the 5
I might consider it if DJI offered an option to buy the drone without controller, but Iāve a mini pro 3 with controller, and a mini pro 4 with the RC controller which is pretty much redundant because I have the drone bound to the RC Pro2, so I really donāt need yet another redundant RC controller.
Otherwise, Iām probably going to be looking towards the Mavic 4 (which Iād also like to see a controller-free version of for sale at maybe Ā£1500 or so).
