I’ve come across battery updates for bigger stuff, just never seen a prompt on minis but thays now been explained, ty.
I do tend to stick with firmware releases a few revisions behind the latest just to let other people find faults for me
One word of caution from an obvious nubcakes on the subject. I do know DJI have region specific settings and hardware function both for enterprise and consumer. Matrice n Avata for example.
Those people with the non EU release plus batteries might want to consider any updates for those batteries carefully. Fun n games might be a factor.
Generally the battery updates are for bugs, DJI have never locked out a genuine battery but the aircraft firmware updates are pushed to lock-out non-genuine
I’ve not heard of it either but i still think it’ll be worth waiting a little while to see if anyone has issues especially as they are rocking horse do do atm
Couple of things i’ve noticed after a few of hours of fiddlings.
The prox camera osd has been reimplemented alot better imo. Being able to lock the camera helps me when flying backwards or manual orbits etc.
I think they regiggled the live stream function to allow an easier continuous stream during battery changes. The stream didnt seem to drop for me over 3 or 4 hours.
Car roof landing seem alot more forgiving. Ie the ‘check the area’ nag prompt appears alot less now.
RTH on low battery seems different, ie It’ll beep low battery long before it auto returns.. not sure if thats a good thing yet.
The line between drone and homepoint on the minimap still disappears for me. I’m not sure how to get it back, other than a controller reboot, not ideal in flight but doable. It makes flying back toward home backwards a tad more awkward. This is more of an existing problem for me rather than a new firmware bug.
I think you could lock the view from the obstacle avoidance cameras with the previous firmware but I agree the UI is now better.
I am seeing, or more accurately, hearing, this too. I am not sure why DJI changed this.
One other thing I noticed is that DJI also appear to have fixed the issue where the drone would not move if you set it to “C” mode when it was locked on to a “Spotlight” subject and obstacle avoidance was set to “Bypass”.
I did hear about that bug but didnt experience it,
Good to know they sorted it either way
Thinking about alerts and volumes etc.
The RTH beep. It still isnt affected but the volume level afaik. The only way ive found to silence it is to mute the whole controller. More of a peev than a bug but still…
Notes:
• Added features require DJI Fly v1.21.0 or later.
• Camera settings will be reset after firmware update, check the camera settings in DJI Fly.
• If update fails, restart aircraft, remote controller, and DJI Fly or DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drones Series), and retry
