Today ive just done the update on the fly app
Well, that’s new. Not that a firmware update resets the camera settings, but that they’ve thought to mention it in the release notes! Progress!! ![]()

I’m sure DJI do not fully test these updates, before releasing them on unsuspecting drone operators. Perhaps it’s time they spent more time testing these “fixes”

That costs
Ahh, probably explains why we’re told the updates “ fix a few minor bugs” ![]()

I guess their accountants decided its cheaper to send buggy updats out into the wild and let the great court of youtube pass verdict along with the care claims than employ a bunch of beta or is that alpha testers?
I think im still on the release day version for now.

I did the firmware updates for mini 5 and each of the 3 batteries supplied with combo.
I also have 2 spare mini 4 batteries, the new firmware would not update on these.
I expected this may happen, not sure how this will effect the low battery rth function in new firmware.
May have to run a test and use a mini 4 battery , keep it close when rth is due to operate.

I’d expect that too ![]()

If you have some spare time please do, there are quite a few people here that are flying with mixed battery combinations ![]()
I’ve never been prompted to update battery firmware on any mini.
I shall look into it ![]()
It’s definitely a thing .. even within my limited Mini experience.

There isnt a prompt as such.
If you complete the firmware update.
Then put in second battery,it comes up with update available, then it will go through update again, but the upload is quicker with this and subsequent batteries.
AIR3S has similar , whenever there is a update i always check all batteries, there isnt always a battery update, and that will be indicated when second battery installed ,it will come up with all firmware up to date.

Link to joes air3s battery updates.
Heads up - this is one of the ones that includes battery updates so don’t forget to swap them all in and update them all before you head out to fly and have to stand about in a field like a lemon waiting for the install (been there, done that).
