Don’t know if anyone has mentioned this before but on the Mini 5 pro when I go past the x2 on the zoom there is a small stutter as you go past it and the same Zooming out. I’m guessing its to do with the lenses but does anyone know what it is and can i do anything to stop it.
Theres a few posts on Google people moaning with the same issue so it may not be an isolated case, some presume software not hardware & was mentioned a few days ago possibly the recent FW update ? ( just guessing ) …
Although one person was ranting about it about a month ago .
The Mini 5 Pro only has a single fixed lens and any “zoom” functionality can only be a digital zoom, ie. a crop of the full size sensor image.
Which controller are you using with the drone Robin @Djiman61 ?
Does the stutter occur in both photo mode and in video mode? And only ever at the 2x point? ![]()
The 2x zoom isn’t a crop as much as it is a sensor mode switch. I’ve seen this stutter in lots of Mini 5 footage over the past couple of months. It is horrible and I’d suggest avoiding shots where the zoom clicks from one sensor mode to the other.
Oh? Interesting ![]()
Can you share any more insight on what the sensor is doing at that point? ![]()
Aye, it is putting the binning in the bin
. Not just a simple crop. There’s a visible “clunk” as it does this on all the mini 5 footage I’ve seen. Ugly.
Thanks. For the rc1 controller (screen) and haven’t tried in photo mode as with that wouldn’t be an issue but just in video mode you get a slight stutter at the x2 point which on playback looks bit off
DJI did tell me that a future firmware update would sort it. Have updated firmware at the weekend and still the same. Spoke to them again on chat this morning and now they are saying that you will always get that stutter to a degree but they are still working on smoothing it out. Wait and see I guess👍
