DJI Motion 3 controller with Liftoff

Just got an Avata 2 fly more combo with the Motion 3 controller. Seems the best thing to start with is a simulator, like Liftoff.

I’ve downloaded it, but can’t seem to get it to recognise the controller on the PC?

I’ve updated the firmware for the controller on the PC using the Dji app, but still doesn’t seem to recognise the controller.

Any suggestions ?

Aren’t sure but is it supported ?

And further you won’t need sim time to fly motion controller

I’ve let 8 and 80 year olds fly mine with no issues

I don’t believe that it is supported.

I recently got a BetaFPV LiteRadio 2 Sim Controller from Hobbyrc for liftoff and microdrones.

I’ve never looked into connecting the motion 3 to a sim. Afaik, the sims only pick up the fpv 3 controller. The console pad looking thing. I could very well be wrong tho.

The motion controller is fairly tame. Its what i use 99% of the time. So long as your in a fairly open space you should be fine without simming it first.

The big orange ‘oh dear’ button helps alot. If at any time you feel your about to hit something or loose control then tap that and the drone will auto brake.

Perfect thanks everyone

Look to invest in the FPV Controller if manual is to be your thing, there is better way to fly the Avata series

You mean there is a better way to max out dji care claims? ;p

1:09 although this was on the motion controller

as mentioned by a few above only the FPV / game pad type controllers can be used with the likes of LiftOff / Uncrash etc as sim’s are used to build muscle memory for flying manual mode.

If you do get the FPV Controller 3 be sure to check out some YouTube vids on how to put the controller into Manual mode as there is a bit of a “mod” you need to do to it so that the throttle stick does not return to the middle - it has to have no resistance on it. In manual mode the middle of the throttle is like 50%ish power, so you start off with the stick down at the bottom.

You can connect xbox / PlayStation control pads to your laptop/PC and play around with that but you cant dead stick the throttle on them type of controllers and it wont be the same as a true FPV controller.

giphy

Which says a lot for my flying skills, I’ve managed to kill 3x Avata 2’s in 18 months ownership.

DJI issued me with a Limited Edition Sticker for my 4th.:rofl::rofl:

Minor mishaps are still possible with the Motion Controller 3 and Avata 2.

As per my experience!!!

1st Crash - using Motion Controller

2nd Crash - unable to recover footage from drone - using motion controller

3rd Crash - using FPV controller
