Depends on what you want it to do really.

If you want to ā€˜rip’ round places and do aero tricks etc there are other cheaper routes in.

If you’re bought into the DJI ecosystem then it’s ok , goggles and controllers play nicely together (dependant on model)

I got one stupidly cheap but already had goggles and controller from my Avata 2 (better option imho as a starter)

The worst thing about it is that in anything but dead calm it’s shit

Hi, i have a dji mini 4k pro at the min but would like to see what its like flying fpv.

Check out the meets section, lots of activity in the Lancs area, including one next week at the popular Beacon Park, where I am sure you would be able to have a try (If I make it, you can for sure have a play with mine)

How to I get my neo to fly higher I’m using it with a rc2 it’s set to max altitude in settings but won’t go above 90ft

@sdj_drones without wishing to take this off topic, try a few searches it’s been covered a few times elsewhere, but it sounds like you’re not logged in to your DJI account on the Fly app.

First FPV drone recommation is a Simulator.
With ELRS controller via Bluetooth.

The sims give a good feel of how much more money to invest. Sim cost around 20 quid.

Hello Lee, I purchased the DJI Neo Motion Flymore Combo a few weeks back as my foray into Drone ownership and piloting. I have been loving it. This is my first Drone, but the motion controller makes it super easy for anyone to start flying in FPV.
As far as actual flying goes, the motion controller is limiting, but it is super useful for taking photos and videos. Using wrist motion to fly and control the camera is very intuitive.

As I was keen to learn flying FPV in full manual (acro) I picked up the DJI FPV Controller 3 last week.
As a newbie, it took me around 6.5 hours in the simulator (Liftoff, available on Steam), to be comfortable enough to take my first flight. Practising in a simulator is a must, as I must have crashed dozens of times whilst getting used to the controls and gaining muscle memory.

I really rate the Neo as there are some many different uses and ways to fly it. It is a superb little aircraft.

In case you’ve not seen them, Dronarchy has made some cool videos with his Neo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zivOZpX29nk

Hi, thank you for the info, watching the you tube videos as i type lol, i took the plung and ordered the neo fly more combo so gotta start learning now, i do have a mini 4k pro already and have the rc2 controller, can it be used same as the fpv remote controller 3, ???

As far as I’m aware, you cannot pilot the Neo in manual mode with the RC2. You would be limited to flying in ā€œnormalā€ and ā€œsportā€ modes. You will need the DJI FPV Remote Controller 3 (in conjunction with the Goggles (N)3) to fly in manual mode.

You won’t go wrong with the Neo, goggles and FPV RC3 as a beginner.

the Neo weighs next to nothing, making it nearly indestructible, unless you flying it into a wall (which I have done), however care refresh cover is peanuts. After my accident with Neo, it cost me £18.00 for a replacement which arrived in 3 days from making the initial claim. Which is considerably cheaper that repairing a FPV quads (parts, time & tools)

I’m no FPV expert, but I now have 4 different FPV quads, along with the Neo & Avata 2 and I still enjoy flying the Neo in full manual.

Just to let you know if you are looking for a Neo we have them at a discount on Category: Neo - Leicester Drones and your Grey Arrows discount code will work as well. Regards, Chris at Leicester Drones Ltd
