What do u want for £169 !!

That is because its don’t have one

Since I’d be giving up an RC and 10 minutes per battery, I want a zoom lens… As the Neo doesn’t have one, that’s another nail in the coffin of my buying it!

What are you comparing it with

This isn’t a cheap 5 year old second-hand model with a zoom for that price, that originally cost nearer £1k.

This a brand new model released today.

My lost Mini 2 SE. A replacement for this when I can afford it/possibly dependent on the outcome of returning the Mavic Mini with the faulty RC to PMB, which might have put me in a position to buy a new Neo, will be a better deal for me, as I used the zoom on the Mini SE a lot and have got used to it. Even if I end up with a 2nd hand Mini 2 SE or 4K.

As I’ve said, the Neo is a marvellous peice of kit and excellent value, but it’s not really the sort of drone I’m looking for. Especially factoring in the cost of controllers &c.

If PMB replace the faulty controller for the Mavic Mini, I still haven’t got zoom, and am thinking now that this drone was not the best way to spend my limited cash, but what’s done is done. Long term plan is to save for a better drone, by which I mean something with level 5 wind-handling, better connectivity range, 4K wouldn’t hurt, and zoom. This is not a Neo, even a Neo has 4K and follow me.

They are 2 different types of drone so you cant compare them

It’s not a zoom but a crop

It’s not for me it’s like a Mini F#£&@D a Avata or something like a Dingle from Emmerdale
Most people upgrade not downgrade however it’s a very good starter drone or indoor basher for the price

Zoom in post

Or fly closer

That high pitch wining sound…arghhhhhh

I’ve ordered one reason may some may find odd but I’ve got avata 2 and manual controller but even after a good few hours on manual sims still nervous about trashing the avata in manual mode. For me I see it as a less expensive way to fly manually until I get my confidence up to use the avata 2 in manual.

Doesn’t quite work like that, Chris; zoom or telephoto shortens the perspective and gives a different feel to the image. And of course, for stuff like architectural detail, the ability to ‘get in close’ while remaining a safe distance from the building is a massive advantage.

There’s a trade off, of course, no such thing as a free lunch, the more the lens is zoomed the less light it can capture, which can affect the image in terns of DOF and clarity.

With a digital zoom it pretty much does, its clever software but basically a crop.

Optical different gravy, but in this price bracket thats not a thing.

Then we could give it to the DJI rep who invited me and said they’d be there all week…:sweat_smile:

Looks like the Neo is compatible with the DJI RC-N1 and the the RC-N2 …

Does this mean it will become compatible with the DJI RC or RC2 in the future ??
Makes it even more cost effective if you already have these controllers :man_shrugging:

Edit - It appears its already compatible with the RC2 - my bad :man_facepalming:

Anyone received their new Neo yet?

Eagerly awaiting feedback from members who have.

I’m still sat on the fence as to click the buy button or not.

The more I heard about it and now its released I know its not a drone for me. If anything I need to go bigger not smaller.

For the right user such as a vlogger or someone that goes on big hikes in the open etc… what amazing features and value for money :+1:

Do it Jason press the buy it now button get the combo kit so you spend more :joy:Karma says you need it after you’re influenced me into the Avata
